Job Description
Role: Senior IT & Network Support Engineer
Experience Level: 3+ Years
Work location: Coimbatore, Erode.
Role & Responsibilities:
Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:
● Responsible for working with all technology team members to ensure proper maintenance of the LAN, Wireless, MAN and WAN voice and data networks.
● Address user tickets regarding hardware, software and networking
● Responsible for ensuring the day-to-day operation, reliability, and integrity of the enterprise voice communications network. This includes the installation, maintenance, and management of all data network equipment such as router, LAN switch, firewall, wireless, backup systems, network management and diagnostic tools, etc.
● The Engineer is responsible to assist in the development of company policies and procedures to support operations, security, and integrity. Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures and Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations.
● To troubleshoot equipment and network problems, participate in critical maintenance windows, and to open and track TAC cases to problem resolution on pre and post production issues.
● Installing new software & new hardware (servers, printers, computer workstation, etc.)
● Setting up user accounts, permissions and passwords from Desktop central
● Overseeing security of all systems, especially the internet, and installing antivirus protection and monitoring Fixing network faults.
● In-depth or Adequate understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols (e.g., MPLS, BGP, OSPF)
● Security (Firewalls/IPS/IDS/Proxy) is the Secondary skill with experience across all major Vendors on Security appliances like Sophos, etc.
● Hands-on knowledge in SSL/IPsec VPN tunnel creation and troubleshooting the issue.
● Coordinate with OEM for product related fixed, ensure high uptime and standardization of configuration in devices
● Understand VAPT and mitigate gaps in Security.
● SD-WAN Management and maintenance with ISP weightage.
● Troubleshooting for Antivirus / Proxy / VPN related issues & also Conduct remote troubleshooting.
Skills Required:
● Good written and oral communication skills.
● Proven work experience as a Desktop Support Engineer, Technical Support Engineer or similar role
● Hands-on experience with Windows/Linux/Mac OS environments
● Knowledge of network security practices and anti-virus programs
● Ability to perform remote troubleshooting and provide clear instructions
● Excellent problem-solving and multitasking skills
● Customer-oriented attitude
