FIRST GOA2MARS KITS HANDED OVER TO CHORAO SCHOOLS!!
One Goa2Mars kit – containing 700+ total nos. of 200+ distinct electronics, automation and robotics items valued at Rs.30,000 – each was recently handed over to both Chorao schools for FREE! Each school has earned 2 Goa2Mars kits for their successful participation in our Goa2Mars program during the last academic year 2022-23!
St. Bartholomew's High School - Chorao
Chorao Educational Society's , Dayanand High School - Chorao- Ilhas Goa
Using each kit their students can do 100s of projects from basic demonstrations of science phenomena that they learn in the school curriculum to exciting robotics projects. Additionally, many included components can be used to do even engineering-grade complex projects by students keen to pursue advanced levels. These would be actively supported from our side through online learning videos, need-based online interactive video sessions and a WhatsApp HelpDesk line.
Main objective of our Goa2Mars program since early-2020 has been to use robotics as a medium for promotion of Goan village school students’ interest into STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) education which is the bedrock for innovation, industry and economic progress of any country and is a necessity for our rising India today and the future ahead. Additionally, robotics has been proven to help develop students’ healthy, productive and creative interests into modern technologies and away from the addictions of social media, gaming, inappropriate videos etc. which plague many students since the COVID pandemic.
Both schools have given us an undertaking on our following Terms & Conditions, and on their successful 50% accomplishment of our kit utilization & performance criteria therein they will get the 2nd kit earned by them:
1. You will ensure that our kit(s) are stored securely and protected from elements of nature for its longevity and maximum value extraction by your students.
2. Within the first 3 weeks of the new academic year (2023-24), your school will formally institute a Robotics Club at your school on the lines of your Science, Eco/Green, Chess, Sports and other existing clubs with regular activities/events.
3. Only students of Std.6-9 with confirmed technical interests and coding (viz. Scratch/PictoBlox) skills are to be admitted into your Robotics Club. Minimum annual club membership = 20 students.
4. Your Robotics Club will be headed by either one of your Computer/Science/Math teachers along with a Std.9/10 student Lead and his/her deputy chosen purely on merit.
5. Your Robotics Club in-charge teacher will maintain a documented track record of usage of all our kit items by your Robotics Club members to ensure that these are not lost or wasted or remain largely unused or get misused by unauthorized/unskilled students/persons.
6. During the academic year, your Robotics Club will organize atleast 4 demonstrations/events (viz. demonstrate their projects, movie/documentary screening, quiz competition etc.) at your school for an internal audience (ie. your students, teachers) to promote interest in robotics within your school.
7. During the academic year, your Robotics Club will organize atleast 2 demonstrations/exhibitions/events at your school to showcase their robotics work to an external audience viz. parents, community etc.
8. During the academic year, your Robotics Club will participate in atleast 4 inter-school (including state-level) competitions/exhibitions/events related to STEM education.
9. During the academic year, your Robotics Club will participate in atleast 2 regional (including national-level) competitions/exhibitions/events related to STEM education.
10. During the academic year, for each given kit your Robotics Club will do atleast 8 basic science phenomena demonstration projects and atleast 4 mid-to-complex level robotics projects to be showcased at the annual Science Day at your school.
11. On successful compliance of the above-mentioned criteria during the academic year 2023-24 your school will get permanent ownership of our kit(s) with no further expectations from our side.
12. Solely at Uzoorba’s discretion, compliance exemptions may be granted for genuine challenges/constraints provided these are intimated in advance with clear details via email to [email protected]. Failure to do so risks your claimed challenges/constraints being viewed as excuses with very low probability of acceptance for compliance exemption(s). In either case, the final decision will be consultative in nature based on mutual trust and cooperation between your school and us.
13. Blatant, major non-compliances and/or misuse of our kits will result in our kits being withdrawn from your school with immediate effect with any damaged/lost kit items to be replaced/paid by you.
14. It is natural that 10-20% electronic components get damaged when put in use due to various factors (viz. power fluctuations, genuine mistakes by students, research trials etc.) This is part of the learning process for your students and is understandable from our side. However, in case the damaged items are needed by your students then your school will have to purchase these on its own account. We will provide you links to our online suppliers from where you can purchase these with no referral commission/benefits coming to us.
15. Though we have tried our best to pre-test most of the significant components in our kits it is possible that you encounter an occasional defective-on-receipt item. You may report such items immediately to us and depending on the circumstances we will decide whether we can/will replace it for you or if you need to purchase it yourself online as explained in the previous point above.
16. Your school will get immediate possession of the FIRST kit on your signing of the mutually agreed final set of Terms & Conditions but not later than 2nd week of the new academic year (2023-24). SECOND kit will be provided to your school immediately on your Robotics Club achieving 50% of the targets listed above, subject to our quick verification.
17. You agree that the above Terms & Conditions are intended primarily to not straight-jacket your school but to ensure that our expensive kits provided FREELY to your school are being used effectively as a STEM learning medium by your Robotics Club.
We wish the students of both Chorao schools the very best on their journey!
