FOSS - Free & Open Source Software Club At SRM FOSS Club is a student initiative that aims to make SRM University a hub for active learning & contribution towards Open Source Communities.

Sharing is a powerful way to build a collaborative environment. We live in a time where researches and developments happen at rapid pace and at a great success rate. Every person aspiring to develop something is left back in the race due to factors like licensing, expensive resources, piracy and privacy. We are living in a society where sharing is discouraged, often called by derogatory names, suc

h as for example 'piracy'. This club is to create a ready reckoner for any person who intends to promote free knowledge and free software. FOSS club aims at achieving the collaborative environment at SRM University by introducing students to basic Open Source Tools like Linux, Git, Open Hardware etc. and Open Communities like Null, NRCFOSS, LUG, Google etc. FOSS Club would organize talks, workshops and start open source projects at SRM University to encourage and engage students into contributing towards development of Open Source Communities.
