Joint promotions is about offering a good "Thank-you" offer to your customer when they walk into the store. A fair amount of thought has to be put into construction of the offer. What is the purpose of a offer- just to entice them to come back again, make them feel you are a friend for life, socially talk about your organization, or simply goodwill. At the same time, what is the best offer that we can deliver? This is a real hard problem. I might have limited friends or relationships that I can solicit for special offers. The one's I know really well may not fit with my demographics. Moreover, friends should not be the sole way to solicit rewards.

All brands have a vital asset that they never ever monetize. Most companies are acquired for this vital asset. This is the "Profiled Customer database". Companies use it for supply chain optimization and logistics strategies, but only a few use it for marketing.

ELC Labs is building a warehouse of brands. This way, any brand can select from the list and schedule their joint promotion. Rather than spending millions and lakhs of currency for a promotion, they could schedule a new one with a investment that is less than 1/20 to 1/50 of any other mass-media investment.

Everyone loves the idea of joint promotions but everyone is in black hole as far as the outcome goes. How do I know the partner is the right one, how do I encourage them to do the best they can, what is the return on my investment. Interesting challenge. The only real way to know where it is working is real-time tracking. When and where did the customer get the information. Do they bring the coupons and present it to the cashier? Were they satisfied with the experience of availing the coupon?

Today is the end of the design and development period and start of the sales period. It is all about getting to the customers, signing them up and getting them to start using the system.
