How to Check Your Hard Disk For Errors:

When using your computer regularly you need to keep up with computer maintenance and to check you hard disk drive for errors is one of those tasks. Your hard disk drive is where everything is stored on your computer so to say the hard drives performance is important is an understatement.
You can not only help solve some computer problems but you can also improve the performance of your computer by making sure that your hard disk has no errors.

1. Open Computer by clicking the Start button , and then clicking Computer.
2. Right-click the hard disk drive that you want to check, and then click Properties.
3. Click the Tools tab, and then, under Error-checking, click Check Now. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

What does Windows error checking do?

To automatically repair problems with files and folders that the scan detects, select Automatically fix file system errors. Otherwise, the disk check will simply report problems but not fix them.
To perform a thorough disk check, select Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors. This scan attempts to find and repair physical errors on the hard disk itself, and it can take much longer to complete.
To check for both file errors and physical errors, select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors.
Depending upon the size of your hard disk, this may take several minutes. For best results, don’t use your computer for any other tasks while it’s checking for errors !!!!!

Use a USB Flash Drive for RAM Memory:


We use USB to transfer the data’s. The USB can be used asRAM. Let’s start with windows vista; those who use pc’s can use their USBdrives to increase the performances of their computer. This is called ReadyBoost. Ready Boost deal with free spacethat is on your USB drives, such as RAM. When we increase RAM that’s equal to more speed. Ready Boost comprise on all free versions ofwindows vista and windows 7. It’s easy to setup the positions and in few minutes it can be finished.

1. Insert the USB drive in your computer.
2. Go to "My Computer" then right-click on the USB drive.
3. Go to "Properties"
4. Next, click on the "ReadyBoost" tab.
5. Choose the option that says "Use this device".
6. Under "Space to reserve for system speed", select the amount of memory that you wish to use for your USB flash drive. The amount of memory that Windows recommends is usually the best setting and should not be exceeded.
7. Click on "OK" to save your settings and exit.
8. Restart your computer for the changes to take affect.

After lot of hardships and difficulties in bringing out an active club onto the reach of students benefit , finally we arrive at the juncture of starting the long awaited "TECHCOM" club and its various activities from 4th feb 2013 ( coming monday ) , lets thank the persons behind the club , well wishers , club co-ordinators , staff co-ordinator , shakti saravanan sir , and above all the club members who have showed thier enthusiastic participation in registering 4 the club and showing lot of interest , we assure to benefit all the members through the various club activities . . . . .
