Every day as a teacher brings a new learning experience.
Yesterday, I had a class with a new student for his second Python session. During the first session, I introduced arithmetic operators and some basic string methods.
Before the class started yesterday, his mother mentioned that if he got distracted during the lesson, I should let her know. A few minutes into the session, the student openly said, "If I get bored, I will get distracted."
That caught me by surprise, so I asked him whether he was feeling bored. He honestly replied, "I thought we could create games, but in Python we have to write scripts and can't create games."
At that moment, I realized that what he was looking for was a more visual and creative way to learn programming. I immediately introduced him to Python's Turtle module and explained that we could create geometric drawings, animations, and even simple games with it.
The change was instant. His interest level went up, he became more engaged, and the rest of the session was filled with curiosity and excitement.
Moments like these remind me that teaching is not just about delivering content—it's about understanding what motivates each student and adapting the learning journey to keep them inspired.
Every child learns differently, and every class teaches me something new as well.
