Export your photo albums to Google+
Save your Orkut profile, scraps, testimonials, & community posts to your computer using Google Takeout.
After Orkut shuts down on September 30, 2014:

You will not be able to log in to Orkut
You will not be able to export your photo albums to Google+
Apps, APIs, & games will no longer be available
Public communities will be saved in a publicly viewable Community Archive.

दुनिया की सबसे मशहुर सोशल नेटवर्किंग साईट फेसबुक की कमाई सुनकर आप भी चौंक जाएंगे। सोशल नेटवर्किंग की ये ‌दिग्गज कंप‌नियां भारत में बहुत बड़ा 'यूजर्स बेस' रखती हैं। बड़ी संख्या में यूजर होने के बाद भी कंपनियों की कमाई बहुत ही कम है। फेसबुक की पूरी कमाई में भारत का योगदान मात्र 0.1 फीसदी है। आपको बता दें कि अमेरिका के बाद फेसबुक इस्तेमाल करने वालों की बड़ी संख्या भारत में है।

वैसे फेसबुक की कुल कमाई की बात करें तो कंपनी ने अपनी दूसरी तिमाही के नतीजों में बताया है कि 30 जून को खत्म हुई तिमाही में फेसबुक की कुल आय 2.91 अरब अमेरीकी डॉलर रही। दुनिया भर से करीब 40 करोड़ ऐक्टिव यूज सिर्फ मोबाइल पर फेसबुक का इस्तेमाल करते हैं। फेसबुक की कुल आबादी करीब 1.3 अरब यूजर है जिसमें से लगभग 10 करोड़ यूजर भारतीय हैं।

वहीं डिजिटल मार्केट में कमाई के मामले में गूगल सबसे आगे है। भारत में लगभग 10 करोड़ फेसबुक यूजर्स हैं। लिंक्डइन का दूसरा सबसे बड़ा बाजार भारत ही है। ट्विटर के लिए भारत तीसरा सबसे बड़ा बाजार बनने के कगार पर है। हालांकि भार‌तीय उपभोक्ताओं से पैसे कमाने के मामले ये ‌तीनों ही कंपनियां फिसड्डी ह‌ैं। सोशल नेटवर्किंग बाजार में ये कंपनियां भारत से अपनी कुल कमाई का 0.1 फीसदी ही कमा पाती हैं।

भारतीय इंजीनियर्स अपने हुनर की बदौलत दुनिया भर की बड़ी कंपनियों की पहली पंसद रहते हैं। गूगल को चलाने वाले प्रमुख लोगों में तीन भारतीय इंजीनियर्स शामिल हैं। अमित सिंघल, सुंदर पिचाई और श्रीधर रामास्वामी गूगल के तीन बड़े अधिकारी हैं जो सीधा गूगल के को-फाउंडर और सीईओ लैरी पेज को रिपोर्ट करते हैं।

हाल तक निकेश अरोड़ा गूगल के चीफ बिजनेस ऑफिसर और सबसे ज्यादा सैलरी पाने वाले एग्जेक्युटिव थे। अब वह कंपनी छोड़कर जा रहे हैं, लेकिन इसके बावजूद 60 अरब डॉलर की दिग्गज ग्लोबल सर्च कंपनी की कमान तीन भारतीय इंजीनियर्स के हाथों में रहेगी।

इन तीन भारतीयों की गूगल में स्थिति का पता इस बात से लगाया जा सकता है कि कंपनी के करीब 40 हजार कर्मचारी इन्हें रिपोर्ट करते हैं। सिंघल, पिचाई और रामास्वामी गूगल के उच्च 8 एग्‍जीक्‍यूटिव में शामिल हैं। गूगल की आय का बड़ा स्त्रोत विज्ञापन होता है। विज्ञापन की इंजीनियरिंग का जिम्मा रामास्वामी के पास है।

सिंघल गूगल फेलो होने के साथ कंपनी के सर्च अॉपरेशंस का नेतृत्व करते हैं। पिचाई गूगल के हॉट बिजनेसेज, क्रोम और एंड्रॉयड और एप्स की जिम्मेदारी देखते हैं।

अॉपरेटिंग सिस्टम एंड्रॉयड पर दुनिया के करीब 70 फीसदी स्मार्टफोन चलते हैं। पिचाई 2013 से एंड्रॉयड की जिम्मेदारी संभाल रहे हैं। गूगल के फाउंडर लैरी पेज ने हाल ही दिए एक इंटरव्यू में पिचाई की तारीफ में कहा था कि पिचाई को तकनीक की गहरी समझ है। नए उत्पादों के बारे में सोचने को लेकर पिचाई का जवाब नहीं है।

हालांकि गूगल इन तीनों की सैलेरी के बारे में कोई जानकारी नहीं देती है। पर ऐसी उम्मीद जताई जा रही है कि इन तीनों भारतीयों में से किसी एक की आने वाले समय में गूगल का सीईओ बनने की संभावना है।

बैंकिंग में ऐसे सिस्टम पर काम चल रहा है, जिससे कोई व्यक्ति बिना कार्ड के एटीएम से पैसा निकाल सकेगा। ऐसा होगा एटीएम कार्डधारक से मिली इजाजत और एक मोबाइल कोड के आधार पर। फिलहाल देश में 54 करोड़ बैंक कस्टमर हैं, जिसमें से 40 करोड़ के पास ही एटीएम कार्ड है। लेकिन माेबाइल 90 करोड़ के हाथों में हैं। ऐसे में यह योजना 40 करोड़ लोगों को फायदा पहुंचाएगी।

ऐसे काम करेगा सिस्टम
एटीएम कार्ड धारक को एटीएम या नेट-बैंकिंग के जरिए बैंक को पैसा निकालने वाले व्यक्ति का नाम, फोन नंबर और शहर का नाम बताना होगा।
इस पर बैंक एटीएम कार्डधारक के मोबाइल पर एक कोड भेज देगा।
यह कोड पैसा निकालने वाले व्यक्ति को भेजना होगा।
पैसा निकालने वाला व्यक्ति जब यह कोड एटीएम में दर्ज करेगा तो उसके मोबाइल पर एक नया कोड मिलेगा।
दोनों व्यक्तियों के कोड का मिलान होने के बाद एटीएम से पैसा निकाला जा सकेगा।
होगा कारगर साबित
गांव-देहात या इमरजेंसी में फंसे किसी व्यक्ति को पैसा भेजने के लिए यह सिस्टम कारगर साबित होगा। रिजर्व बैंक के एक अफसर का कहना है कि अभी लोग अचानक पैसों की जरूरत होने पर गांव या आसपास के किसी साहूकार से पैसा ले लेते हैं। लेकिन यह सिस्‍टम शुरू होने के बाद वे दूर बैठे अपने किसी रिश्तेदार से मदद ले सकेंगे।

दृष्टिहीनों के लिए सहूलियत
रिजर्व बैंक जल्द ही दृष्टिहीनों के लिए एटीएम में ब्रेल लिपि वाले टाइिपंग पैड लगाने जा रहा है। जिसे छूकर वे एटीएम ऑपरेट कर सकेंगे। इसके अलावा एटीएम में स्पीकिंग फंक्शन भी होगा, ताकि यह सुनाई दे जाए कि जो राशि दर्ज हुई है, वह सही है या नहीं।

General Windows keyboard shortcuts

Alt + Tab
Switch between open applications in all versions of Windows. Reverse the direction by pressing Alt + Shift + Tab at the same time.
Ctrl + Tab
Switches between program groups, tabs, or document windows in applications that support this feature. Reverse the direction by pressing Ctrl + Shift + Tab at the same time.
Alt + double-click
Display the properties of the object you double-click on in Windows 95 and later. For example, doing this on a file would display its properties.
Alt + Print Screen
Create a screen shot only for the active program window in all versions of Windows. For example, if you opened the calculator and did this only the calculator window would be created as a screen shot. If just the Print Screen key is pressed the whole screen will be made into a screen shot.
Ctrl + Alt + Del
Open the Windows option screen for locking computer, switching user, Task Manager, etc. in later versions of Windows. Pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del multiple times will reboot the computer.
Ctrl + Shift + Esc
Immediately bring up the Windows Task Manager in Windows 2000 and later.
Ctrl + Esc
Open the Windows Start menu in most versions of Windows. In Windows 8 this opens the Start screen and in Windows 3.x this would bring up the Task Manager.
Alt + Esc
Switch between open applications on Taskbar in Windows 95 and later.
Alt + Space bar
Drops down the window control menu for the currently open Windows program in Windows 95 and later.
Alt + Enter
Opens properties window of selected icon or program in Windows 95 and later.
Shift + Del
Will delete any file or other object without throwing it into the Recycle Bin in Windows 95 and later.
Hold down the Shift key
When putting in an audio CD or other CD that uses Autoplay, holding down the Shift key will prevent that CD from playing.

Knowing at least some of the Windows 8 keyboard shortcuts helps make your Windows 8 experience much more enjoyable. Try to memorize these top Windows 8 shortcut keys.
Press the Windows key to open the Start screen or switch to the Desktop (if open).
Press the Windows key + D opens the Windows Desktop.
Press the Windows key + . to pin and unpin Windows apps on the side of the screen.
Press the Windows key + X to open the power user menu, which gives you access to many of the features most power users would want (e.g. Device Manager and Command Prompt).
Press the Windows key + C to open the Charms.
Press the Windows key + I to open the Settings, which is the same Settings found in Charms.

कंप्यूटर यूजर्स को अब एक और खास डिवाईस मिलने जा रहा हैं। भले यूजर्स कंप्यूटर पर माउस या ट्रैक बॉल के बिना काम करने की कल्पना भी नहीं सकते हों, लेकिन अब ऐसा डिवाइस आ गया है जो माउस को खत्म कर देगा उंगली में पहनने वाली इस डिवाइस का आकार माउस से बहुत छोटा है।

कंप्यूटर में यूज करने वाला डिवाईस माउस की खोज 60 के दशक में हुई थी और तब से यह कंप्यूटर पर काम करने के लिए एक अहम डिवाइस है। हालांकि माउस के इस्तेमाल से हम 2 डायमेंशनल मूवमेंट्स यानी बस 2डी में ही यूजर इससे इंटरेक्ट कर सकता है। पर इस डिवाइस से आप 3 डायमेंशन यानी 3डी में इंटरेक्ट कर सकता है। अमेरिका में यूनिवर्सिटी ऑफ वयोमिंग में अन नुएन और एमी बैनिक ने एक इंटेलिजेंट डिवाइस बनाई है।

यह डिवाइस 3D के जरिए सटीक पोजिशन पहचानती है और पहले से निर्धारित किए गए जेस्चर्स के आधार पर काम करती है। एमआईटी टेक्नॉलजी रिव्यू के मुताबिक नुएन और बैनिक का लक्ष्य ऐसी सस्ती डिवाइस बनाना था, जो लगभग सभी कंप्यूटिंग डिवाइस के लिए यूनिवर्सल इनपुट का काम कर सके। इसे छोटा भी बनाया जाना था, ताकि इसे आसानी से कहीं भी कैरी जा सकें।

How does WhatsApp works?

WhatsApp is a messenger that aims to replicate the SMS experience, but avoid the expense of SMS. Part of what makes SMS popular is that it rides on top of the phone numbers that you can also use to make a phone call. So you can exchange a phone number with someone, and then you have a choice of reaching that person via a telephone call, or an SMS text message.
WhatsApp expands on that idea, so that you can now also reach a person via WhatsApp if you have their phone number. This phone number matching done by WhatsApp is not some optional feature -- it's a core aspect of using WhatsApp, as there is no other way of finding people than having their phone number.

Once you have found someone to talk to on WhatsApp, the mechanism of chatting is pretty straightforward. The simplest phrase for WhatsApp is that it is a "store and forward" system.
This happens at a couple of places. The WhatsApp client will store any message you send, and keep trying to send it to the WhatsApp servers.
This behavior varies somewhat by platform, as some mobile platforms do not allow arbitrary code ex*****on, and this restriction can be visible to the user at times - this is most obvious on the iPhone and Windows Phone platforms, as apps have very restricted access to the CPU when not in the foreground. On other platforms, like Android, BlackBerry, BlackBerry-10, Symbian and Nokia S40, the OS allows background ex*****on, so the user experience is substantially nicer.

This "store and forward" also happens on the WhatsApp chat servers. When a WhatsApp mobile app connects to the chat servers, the store-and-forward process occurs in both directions. The client sends any pending messages in it's mesage store to the server, while the server sends all the accumulated messages destined for that client to the client. This process is done on an acknowlegement basis. This means messages are sent repeatedly until the other side acknowledges receipt of the message.

One difference between the server and the client for "store and forward" is that the server drops messages once they are acknowledged - there is no long term storage. Whereas the client will update the UI to double-check status once the ack arrives, but will keep the message. In the WhatsApp framework, the client is the canonical message store, and the server is a router with temporary storage. This is in contrast to the more typical "store everything forever" strategy seen by other large communication providers operating today.

The lifecycle of a message from 'A' to 'B' is thus:
-user A sends a message by hitting 'send' button.
A's client code connects to the chat server
A's client sends the message body to the chat server
the chat server sends an 'ack' back to the client code so that the message isn't sent again in the future. This puts the message in 'single check' in the UI

Now the message is owned by the server. If we are lucky, client B is already online, and the message can be pushed down the existing connection B has established.

If client 'B' is not currently online, then the server has a decision tree of actions to take to try to get B to connect. Typically a push notification is delivered to client B. Some platforms will just display that notification directly to the user, and wait for user action to start the app. Others allow the push notification to be delivered directly to the WhatsApp application, in the background. Background delivery is again, a much nicer experience for the user, as WhatsApp can then setup a chat connection in the background, fetch the messages, then notify the user. This means the user won't have to wait for message delivery when they open the application, as the messages are already inserted into the message database.

No matter how B's client code is activated, once it connects to the server and receives A's message, it sends back an 'ack' to the server. This relieves the server from the duty of delivering that message in the future. This 'ack' is routed all the way back to A's client, and the message is then in 'double check' in the UI for A, indicating that the delivery process is complete.
