for almost 4 years in college, ☹️ i was “always learning.”
coding. graphic design. SEO. marketing.
i never built anything.
every time something got hard, a shinier skill appeared and i convinced myself that switching was growth.
it wasn’t.
it was distraction. dressed up as ambition.
here’s how it actually looked
→ 3 months into coding: “graphic design pays better.” switched.
→ 3 months into design: “SEO is the future.” switched.
→ 3 months into SEO: “marketing clients pay more.” switched.
one YouTube video was enough to change my entire plan.
one success story was enough to make me start over.
i was always one conversation away from abandoning months of effort.
then one day, i got tired of being a beginner.
so i picked DIGITAL MARKETING.
and i stayed.
not because it was perfect.
because i finally understood something.
a skill you half-learn has almost zero market value.
depth creates opportunities.
surface-level knowledge creates confusion.
the people getting ahead aren’t switching skills every season.
they’re getting dangerously good at the one they already chose.
i don’t regret exploring.
i regret leaving too early.
because success wasn’t hiding in the next skill.
it was waiting on the other side of consistency.
pick one thing ☺️
stay long enough to become dangerous at it.
