WhatsApp has announced that the group calls for voice and video is now available to users in India. With group calls, WhatsApp users can talk to up to 4 participants in total. The feature was announced at the F8 developer conference in May and is rolling out to users in July end.

WhatsApp users can make a group call with up to four people in total. The feature has been in beta testing since June 20, and WhatsApp stable users in India are now receiving the update to make group calls. The feature was announced at the F8 developer conference in May along with Stickers, but the latter feature is yet to be implemented.

How to make WhatsApp Group video calls

As the name suggests, WhatsApp users will be able to video or voice chat with up to 4 participants in total. To make a group call, simply tap the 'add participant' button in the top right corner. Moreover, the Facebook-owned platform notes that WhatsApp group calls are end-to-end encrypted- meaning that communication is private and secure.

WhatsApp group calls on Android and iOS

WhatsApp on Tuesday said that group calls are available on both Android and iOS platforms starting today. Interested users can head over to the Google Play Store or Apple App store to download or update the app to the latest version number. WhatsApp users spend over 2 billion minutes on calls per day, the company said.

With group calls, WhatsApp now joins the league of platforms such as Microsoft Skype, Google Hangouts, Facebook Messenger that offer group video and voice calls."Group calls are always end-to-end encrypted, and we've designed calling to work reliably around the world in different network conditions. The feature is currently rolling out on the iPhone and Android versions of our app," WhatsApp said in a blog post.

Here’s What Xbox Gamers Can Look Forward to in Days to Come

At their E3 Keynote conference, Microsoft unveiled a slew of new Xbox games and partnerships. Keeping this year's E3 focused on software, Microsoft’s gaming head Phil Spencer showcased 52 new games, 15 of which were world premiers.

Microsoft's gaming division, in an effort to intensify the fight with its fierce rival, Sony's PlayStation also announced the acquisition of 4 studios – Playground studios, Compulsion Games, Ninja Theory and Undead Labs. Xbox also announced the formation of a new startup called Initiative.

Phil Spencer also mentioned that Microsoft’s hardware team is working on a new Xbox console, not giving up any other information on the device. He also confirmed on the new streaming service that is in the works and will work on all Microsoft platforms – PCs, Xbox and mobile phones.

Fallout 76

One of the most anticipated games revealed at this year's E3 conference, Fallout 76 this time around has been set in the hills of West Virginia. According to the Director of Bethesda Game Studios, Todd Howard, the game is four times as big as the already huge Fallout 4.

The sequel comes in almost 3 years after the previous Fallout 4, which wasn't widely appreciated among the gaming community, despite its post-apocalyptic action setup. According to reports, Fallout 76 is mostly an online game with a focus on building settlements.

Metro: Exodus

To be launched on 22 February 2019, Metro: Exodus comes about four years after the last Metro game - Metro: Redux which was released in August 2014. The trailer looks like any other Metro game, that revolves around mutated creatures being gunned down.

According to GameSpot, the game was originally due to launch this year, but the developers needed the extra time to make it the best Metro game yet. It will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Filmmaker Karan Johar avoided the use of the word "nepotism" – which had sparked a roaring debate in Bollywood two years ago – at the trailer launch of Dhadak, which marks the debut of late Sridevi's daughter Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter. He says the talents – irrespective of their family name – work hard to be where they are.

Karan has launched a slew of celebrity children in Bollywood – from Alia Bhatt to Varun Dhawan and now Janhvi to Ananya Panday.

At the trailer launch of Dhadak, Karan was asked what are the things he has to keep in mind when he makes films with such talents, who come with a film background.

"“That they grow beyond their name and make their own identity. I think that is our responsibility and their responsibility. These days people focus more on names rather than the talent, but they tend to forget that one puts a lot of hard work, heart, dedication, discipline and mental preparation to face the camera, the audience and the media. It is not easy, really. It is difficult.”" - Karan Johar

In fact, he did not even mention the term "nepotism", which had become widely used when actress Kangana Ranaut accused Karan of being a "flagbearer of nepotism" two years ago.

"“We always use a tag. Like a word of the season. I know that word (nepotism) was doing around for last two years and I am again perhaps encouraging the same concept. But I will not utter the word. But I want to say, they are not here because of that word, but because of their hard work.”"

When asked what made him choose Janhvi and Ishaan for the film Dhadak, a remake of the hit Marathi film Sairat, Karan said: "The story is about an innocent love story. To bring such innocence on-screen, I needed first-time talent."

He said Ishaan first struck him while judging a TV show with Ishaan's step brother Shahid Kapoor.

"“I was judging a show with Shahid where Ishaan happened to meet him on the set. So I just saw Ishaan and got a glimpse of a certain body language, expression and personality. So, I instinctively decided on him. I think Manish Malhotra is the fashion father of Janhvi. He knows her for a long time. He used to keep talking about her so much that I felt like I know her even before meeting her. Then I went to meet her family where I saw her. Then later when I met her personally, I saw her potential to be on-screen and saw that spark and excitement,”"

Directed by Shashank Khaitan, Dhadak is releasing on 20 July.

BENGALURU, Karnataka -- The Ather is electric, offers driving assistants, and is controlled by a touchscreen that can show you the nearest fast-charging station, or take you home with just a swipe. Recharging is free for early adopters, but rather than saving the environment, the company wants you to focus on the design, and the ride.

It sounds a lot like Elon Musk's Tesla, but the Ather is an electric smart scooter that is finally available for pre-orders this week after five years in development. It has a range of 75 kilometers on a single charge, and a charging network coupled with a smart navigation system to find the nearest point when you need it.

Much like the Teslas, an Ather doesn't come cheap.

The Ather 340 costs Rs. 1,09,750 (roughly $1,600), while the 450 (with a more powerful engine and greater range) is priced at Rs. 1,24,750 (roughly $1,850), even after a generous government subsidy.

The scooters are only available in Bangalore, with the first deliveries scheduled for August, but with pre-orders are coming in fast, new orders will only be available in later October.

"We are building the scooter here in Whitefield, where we have a factory that is presently building around 40 to 50 units a week," says Ather CEO Tarun Mehta. "The goal is to take this factory to around 250 units a week by the end of this year, the plant has a capacity of 600 scooters per week.

"By year three we should have expanded our capacity, and be making 100,000 units per year."

As of now, the scooter is made in-house, except for except the cells in the battery, and the motor. The goal, Mehta said, is to bring everything in-house except for the cells in the battery, which are imported.

It's easy to see why people are pre-ordering.
