JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
3+ years of experience in MYSQL as a developer and DBA
Position: MYSQL Developer + DBA
Experience: 3-8 years
Education: BE/ B Tech/ BCA. Technical Masters degree will be an advantage.
Job location: Viman Nagar, Pune
Desirable: Good Communication, Good attitude, Team player

Primary Responsibility:
● Identify opportunities for improving performance in MySQL
operations and implementations. To Write / Modify the stored procedures as per business needs.
● Oversee the operations of the production and staging environments databases
● Design, implement, and monitor disaster recovery plans as it pertains to the production database environment
● Perform technical troubleshooting to diagnose, isolate and correct data and database issues
● Give design recommendations for database functions that meet business operating standards while improving the efficiency of business processes
● Train and mentor junior personnel on best practices
● Provision MySQL instances, both in clustered and non-clustered configurations
● Ensure performance, security, and availability of databases
● Prepare documentations and specifications
● Handle common database procedures, such as upgrade, backup, recovery, migration, etc.
● Profile server resource usage, optimize and tweak as necessary
● Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders
● To identify the performance improvement for CS Import and Export processes
● Perform database monitoring, maintenance, reorganizations, resource management, schema management, and capacity planning and performance tuning for the databases
● Resolve and/or escalate issues in a timely fashion
● Backups: table, databases, utilities needed for backing up, affects on table types
● Query tuning: adding/removing indexes, rewriting queries for better performance
● Configuration tuning: for query and overall database performance
● MySQL troubleshooting and error handling..
● Installation on Linux OSes and Windows, and upgrades on Linux OSes and Windows are required.
Skills & Competencies:
● Strong proficiency in MySQL database management
● Hands on experience with installation and configuration of MySQL with recent versions of MySQL
● Understanding of MySQL’s underlying storage engines, such as InnoDB and MyISAM
● Experience with replication configuration in MySQL
● Knowledge of de-facto standards and best practices in MySQL
● Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL statements
● Knowledge of MySQL features, such as its event scheduler
● Ability to plan resource requirements from high level specifications
● Familiarity with other databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB and Elastic search,Cassandra DB etc.
● Knowledge of limitations in MySQL and their workarounds in contrast to other popular relational databases
● Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git, SVN
● Applicable expertise in analysis and maintenance planning on MySQL production systems
● Intermediate knowledge of Linux with regard to moving and compressing files, creating users, firewalls, networking, and simple troubleshooting
● Ability to learn new technologies and recommend solutions to client
● Ability to lead technical projects/assignments and drive them to completion
● Ability to drive tasks to completion and take ownership of projects/assignments
