🔬 S23 Ultra Camera Repair Success! 📸
Got a challenging repair on a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra (Model: S918B)!
The Problem: Both front and rear cameras were not working.
The History: This device came to me after a previous attempt at CPU repair, which resulted in scratched PCB layers and damaged traces.
The Solution Journey:
1. Initial Attempt:
• First, I had to fix the damaged PCB traces by carefully running jumpers where the layers were scratched.
• Afterwards, I re-balled and installed the CPU (Central Processing Unit).
• Result: Camera still failed.
2. Deeper Diagnostics:
• Checked the Camera PMIC (Power Management IC) circuit and found the I2C SDA line was open (disconnected).
• I suspected the CPU connection might still be the issue, so I carefully removed the CPU again.
3. Final Fix:
• Upon closer inspection, the PCB layers were now fine (thanks to the initial jumper work), but the line was open inside the CPU ball connections.
• I performed an extremely precise micro-jumper wire installation on the CPU itself to bypass the broken internal trace.
• Installed the CPU one last time... SUCCESS! 🎉
All done! Another challenging motherboard repair successfully completed.
