We like to think of innovation as a guiding principle that directs us to new and meaningful ideas. After all, innovation is not about one big change, it's about a series of small, purposeful changes that can improve the world.
P.S. Being creative keeps things fun.

Learning and unlearning our way to who we are today.

πŸ‘‰ A well-functioning team isn't all about individually delivering to deadlines or achieving quarterly goals, it is built on mutual trust and constant motivation among every member of the team.

We are building for the future of work by changing the way the world looks at information and data paradigms. Our homegrown (n) engine a.k.a. the Meaning Engine is a proprietary context engine that enables systems to understand information and data at a more deeper, qualitatively meaningful level rather than the early indicators of what it stands for at a quantitative level alone. It enables building solutions by processing meaningful data out of anything stored anywhere - structured, unstructured data types, distributed, at scale and more.

In our quest to do more, we are looking for a Backend Engineering Lead (Java) to join us in New Delhi.

People and the simple, small everyday impact we have in their lives is the greatest thing we will ever do.

πŸ‘‰ Our biggest success story is when people feel pained to leave because you don't have the firepower like your funded peers. It translates into the fact that people have made your vision their own.

πŸ‘‰ The best feeling is when we realize that people have come here from everywhere without much experience at times and made something out of their lives. It has worked in and against us since you invest a lot of time finding those people. But in the end, you'll be happy that you tried building a happy culture and space for them to thrive.

Here's a testimony to why this is the great story we aspire for. And a slight nudge to people like us who are here to create impact.

On a side note- People who might be looking out to take a leap and solve real-world problems, head over to our career platform to find something that interests you- https://angel.co/company/needle-innovision-pvt-ltd/jobs.

Some week-beginning thoughts-

At Needle, we have always believed in doing things simple. Come to any of our product brainstorming discussions, you would often find Rupam (the one heading our product vertical) saying -

πŸ‘‰ Anyone can create big, technically beautiful, complex products but you'll make a difference the day you build something simple yet impactful.

Because in the end, it doesn't matter how complex and technically superior a product you build. What matters is the fact that how much impact your product makes in the lives of the people it touches.

My story goes back to when I was a kid - a chatterbox, teacher's favorite but hated by other kids, confident in the house but insecure outside, with a snoopy nose to discover problematic affairs to solve and an intense desire to change the world.

A significant turning point in my life was when I stepped out of my house and went into the world to pursue my Bachelors in Electrical Engineering. I realized the world has so much more issues than I do. I saw kids my age trying to figure out what to do with their lives. And the story continued when I began my professional journey. I realized many of us bound ourselves by the shackles of everyday limitations. People probably have the same access to information, but the problem is a lack of exposure to the right information at the right time. That's when I realized the significance of guidance in every stage of our lives - be it choosing a career or filtering which subject matter to pursue based on your objective and not to fall prey to mass hysteria. People lose out on opportunities because of not having access to the proper guidance and information when they need it. There needs to be a balancing medium that allows such opportunities to flow equitably and let people do anything, be anything, irrespective of where they are, who they are.

I believe that the person I am today is all thanks to my growing-up environment, parents, and alma mater. They did not tell me that attending classes is the only way I can learn or apprise me of my limitations; instead, they let me explore and discover things my way. Despite my outgoing nature and wearing a confident face most of the time, there is the fear of missing out, insecurities, and imposter syndrome. Still, I have been able to connect my life together because of those learnings.

I am not saying that we have solved that problem entirely, but we have been able to bring a few positive changes here and there. It isn't that one disruption that'll change the world; instead, a series of continuous, progressive, evolving transformations will shift the paradigm.

So, that's how it all began, the inception of Needle. I felt that if I could bring in a medium to solve even one percent of this problem and evoke a change in people's lives, it would probably make my life more meaningful and happy. And there's no turning back.

More on the Needle side of the story another day:)

I grew up in a house where living within boundaries was a way of life. I would experience this very often that 'women have certain boundaries and they should remain within the boundaries, within the convention that is'. More often than not, I would feel having a shackle around me holding me down which is why over time, proving myself to everyone at every stage of life seemed a way of hope.

When graduation came around, I took up a major in Electrical and Electronics Engineering but as time went by, I realised it isn't the right fit for me while to everyone around me, finding a government job (going by the conventions again) seemed the right and the only choice. Towards the end of grad school, I realised my passion for planning and managing projects. So, right after graduation, I joined a startup as a project manager. That seemed like the right call to me then. But say it my luck or so, I landed in a place where a woman's role in running or building an organization was always challenged and often unheard. On a whim, I left the place for good.

Soon began my search, for a place where I can find a safe space for myself, a place that treats and values everyone alike, a space where I can grow beyond conventional boundaries, I came across Needle then. In fact, I say it is one of the fortuitous events that has happened in my life. Here, I like the exciting flutter I get every morning anticipating the learnings I will have today. I am proud of the work that I do alongside my team, the safe space I am crafting for myself and others like me (not just women) where everyone can find a voice to put forth their opinions, where people like you and me can belong. I believe in our lifetime, all of us need a bit of nudge every now and then to have the reassurance that 'you can do it' no matter how hard it may seem at the moment.

What's next in the journey you ask? I guess I will keep defying and proving that conventions or norms are what we define them to be. It is up to you to choose whether you want to grow within them or beyond them.
