My story goes back to when I was a kid - a chatterbox, teacher's favorite but hated by other kids, confident in the house but insecure outside, with a snoopy nose to discover problematic affairs to solve and an intense desire to change the world.
A significant turning point in my life was when I stepped out of my house and went into the world to pursue my Bachelors in Electrical Engineering. I realized the world has so much more issues than I do. I saw kids my age trying to figure out what to do with their lives. And the story continued when I began my professional journey. I realized many of us bound ourselves by the shackles of everyday limitations. People probably have the same access to information, but the problem is a lack of exposure to the right information at the right time. That's when I realized the significance of guidance in every stage of our lives - be it choosing a career or filtering which subject matter to pursue based on your objective and not to fall prey to mass hysteria. People lose out on opportunities because of not having access to the proper guidance and information when they need it. There needs to be a balancing medium that allows such opportunities to flow equitably and let people do anything, be anything, irrespective of where they are, who they are.
I believe that the person I am today is all thanks to my growing-up environment, parents, and alma mater. They did not tell me that attending classes is the only way I can learn or apprise me of my limitations; instead, they let me explore and discover things my way. Despite my outgoing nature and wearing a confident face most of the time, there is the fear of missing out, insecurities, and imposter syndrome. Still, I have been able to connect my life together because of those learnings.
I am not saying that we have solved that problem entirely, but we have been able to bring a few positive changes here and there. It isn't that one disruption that'll change the world; instead, a series of continuous, progressive, evolving transformations will shift the paradigm.
So, that's how it all began, the inception of Needle. I felt that if I could bring in a medium to solve even one percent of this problem and evoke a change in people's lives, it would probably make my life more meaningful and happy. And there's no turning back.
More on the Needle side of the story another day:)
