Samsung Galaxy M42 to arrive with Snapdragon 750G this month

The Galaxy M series is well appreciated in India, and the local fans are up for another treat this month, called Samsung Galaxy M42. The phone will have 5G connectivity, thanks to its Snapdragon 750G chipset, and will arrive as early as this month.

The information appeared online at IANS, the Indo-Asian News Service. The short message also included an alleged price range of between INR20,000-25,000, which is about $265-$335.

The upcoming midranger is already being promoted with the hashtag. So far we know it will have a 6,000 mAh battery and four cameras on the back, with the main one having a 64MP sensor.

The 5G connectivity is another bonus, despite the fact that users can’t actually use it in India since the commercial rollout is yet to take place. Still, some extra future-proofing is always appreciated.

iQOO 7 series Indian launch set for April 26

The iQOO 7 announced in January will debut in India on April 26 and will be sold exclusively through Amazon.in.

Alongside the iQOO 7, iQOO will also introduce the iQOO 7 Legend in the country, designed in partnership with BMW M Motorsport. In China, it shares the internals with the regular iQOO 7 but comes with a different design. Its rear panel is covered with leather, and you can see BMW's colorful stripes running across the length.

The iQOO 7 is powered by the Snapdragon 888 SoC and runs Android 11-based OriginOS out of the box, but in India, it will boot Funtouch OS since OriginOS is currently China-exclusive.

The flagship smartphone sports a 6.62" FullHD+ 120Hz AMOLED screen with a punch hole in the center for the 16MP selfie camera and a fingerprint reader underneath for password-less unlocking.

The back cover of the phone houses a triple camera setup comprising 48MP primary, 13MP telephoto, and 13MP ultrawide units. And keeping the entire package up and running is a 4,000 mAh battery with 120W charging, although iQOO 7 Legend's Indian units will only go up to 66W, which is a bummer.

It's currently unclear how much exactly the iQOO 7 and iQOO 7 Legend will cost in India, but we know the regular variant will be priced under INR40,000 ($530/€445).

Microsoft announces Surface Laptop 4 with AMD and Intel processors

Microsoft today announced the Surface Laptop 4, an updated version of the Surface Laptop 3 that primarily adds a choice of new processors. The Surface Laptop 4 comes with new AMD Ryzen 4000 and Intel 11th gen processors as options and will be on sale April 15.

The Surface Laptop 4 will be available with four new CPU options, two each from AMD and Intel. The AMD CPU options are of the AMD Ryzen Microsoft Surface Edition variety, meaning they are semi-custom chips that feature some additional tweaks and performance over the off-the-shelf parts available to other manufacturers.

The Surface Laptop 4 offers the choice of Ryzen 5 4680U and Ryzen 7 4980U from AMD and Intel Core i5-1135G7 and Core i7-1185G7. The AMD parts feature Radeon Graphics whereas the Intel parts have Intel Iris Xe Graphics.

The rest of the machine is similar to the Surface Laptop 3. You get a choice of 8GB, 16GB, or 32GB LPDDR4X RAM, removable 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB SSD storage, 1x USB-C, 1x USB-A, 1x Surface Connect port, and headphone jack, 720p we**am, dual far-field mics, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, Wi-Fi 802.11ax, and Bluetooth 5.0.

The 13.5-inch model comes with a 2256x1504 resolution display whereas the 15-inch model has a 2496x1664 resolution display. Both have a 3:2 aspect ratio and 10-point multi-touch with support for the optional Surface Pen.

The new machine is available in four colors and two material choices. You can choose from Ice Blue, Sandstone, Platinum, and Matte Black. Out of these, Ice Blue and Platinum are available with an Alcantara finish, but only on the 13.5-inch model. The 15-inch model only comes in Platinum and Matte Black, both with a standard metal body.

Microsoft as usual has some extremely complicated configuration options available, which includes permutations and combinations of the four CPU options, four storage options, three memory options, two sizes, four colors, and two finishes. There are 22 preset options available from the aforementioned configurations and they start at $1000 for the cheapest model with an AMD CPU and $1300 for the cheapest model with an Intel CPU.

Oppo A35 announced with Helio P35 SoC, triple camera, and 4,230 mAh battery

Oppo has added a new member to its A-series, dubbed Oppo A35. But it's not an entirely new smartphone. It's a rebranded A15s launched in India last December, meaning you get a Helio P35 SoC and Android 10 with ColorOS 7.2 on top.

Like the A15s, the A35 also has 4GB RAM onboard, but it only has one storage option - 128GB. Although it does come with a microSD card slot for storage expansion by up to 256GB.

The Oppo A35 is built around a 6.52" HD+ LCD with a waterdrop notch for the 8MP selfie camera. And around the back, we get a fingerprint reader and a triple camera setup, which is a combination of 13MP primary, 2MP macro, and 2MP depth units.

Under the hood, the Oppo A35 has a 4,230 mAh battery, charged through a microUSB port at up to 10W.

The Oppo A35 is offered in three colors and will be sold in China, but Oppo is yet to reveal its pricing and availability details.

ZTE is launching the Axon 30 Ultra tomorrow, April 15, and the company gave up on fighting leaks and rumors, so it posted all key specs by itself on Weibo. The new smartphone is now confirmed to have a 4,600 mAh battery with 66W fast charging, a 6.67” AMOLED with 144 Hz refresh rate and all the latest flagship-tier hardware on the inside.

ZTE Axon 30 Ultra specs revealed by company
The ZTE Axon 30 Ultra will have UFS 3.1 storage and LPDDR5 RAM, but with the company not revealing actual numbers, we are pretty confident there will be multiple choices for the users. So far we’ve heard about a 12/256 GB combo, but we’re always up for a surprise. There’s also support for Wi-Fi 6E, which is neat if the user actually has a router that can work on that frequency.

To cope with heat dissipation, ZTE has equipped the phone with a “triple ice-sealed” v***r chamber for liquid cooling, while other hardware specs include dual-band GPS, NFC and three microphones - likely on for talking, another on top for noise suppression and a third one in the camera setup for audio zoom and better focus during video recording.

On the software side, the Axon 30 Ultra will have MyOS 11 on top of Android 11 out of the box. We know ZTE will offer the device in four colors, but tomorrow we’ll learn how much exactly, and when will it launch.
