Long ago, four of us decided to take a trip down the river Ganges. It was a new moon night and we were in high spirits! After negotiating to take the boat for the whole night, we got in and started rowing.
The night was inviting and we were excited. We started rowing vigorously. Hard work and complete dedication saw us through the night. Early in the morning as the darkness slowly disappeared, we realized we were still at the same spot we started from.
The whole night of rowing was very much ‘on the spot’ rowing. In our enthusiasm, we had forgotten to untie the boat from its mooring. After a hearty laugh we decided to come back another day for our river trip.
Be aware in the organizations too, in our quest to make things happen, we continue to row with passion and commitment, forgetting to untie what is holding us back.
Not everyone gets a second chance!!
