βI wouldnβt be writing this today if it wasnβt for Drishti Marine.β
Drishti Marine is the very organisation that places lifeguards, or lifesavers as they are styled, across Goaβs beaches. They have rescued over 7,000 other people since they were founded in 2008, and alongside them on the frontline, are Mahindraβs 4x4s. Which brings us to the Mahindra Thar.
Goaβs beaches are extensive and often, the lifesavers need to move quickly from one part of the beach to another for a rescue. The Thar was a no brainer β a proper 4x4 that can deal with sandy conditions. Back in the day, in 2008, Drishti had just one 4x4 in their entire fleet. Today, over 30 4x4s are a part of the Drishti fleet. They are a critical part of the operations on the beach, and these Thars are on the frontline, saving lives.
Many times, the rescue operations are so swift that itβs just quicker to drive the person to the hospital than wait for an ambulance. These Thars have oxygen cylinders, defibrillators and other first aid kits which the lifesavers have been trained to use and keep a drowning victim stable with. And with its hardy nature and go-anywhere capabilities, the Thar continues to aid Goaβs lifesavers in keeping these beaches safe.
