Kitchen chemistry | Red cabbage acid base indicator | Fun with Science

Red cabbage is named after its purple color leaves.
Red cabbage contains a pigment called anthocyanin which gives it its color.
Anthocyanin is an acid base indicator that gives warm tones (red, orange and pink etc) in acidic solutions and cool tones (blue, green, yellow etc) im basic solution.
The colours obtained can also be used as natural dyes.
