Without Jupiter protecting us since billions of years, life on Earth may never have had the chance to evolve.

Because Jupiter, with is massive size and gravity, attracts any incoming asteroid upon itself. The Schumacher-Levy asteroid is once such example.

The Resurrection Fern; (Pleopeltis polypodioides) is a species of fern native to the Americas and Africa.

The Resurrection Fern gets its famous name because it can survive long periods of drought by curling up and appearing dead. It has been estimated that these plants could go 100 years without water and still revive after a single soaking, in fact, with just a little water present the fern will uncurl and reopen, appearing to "resurrect" and restoring itself to a vivid green color within about 24 hours.
This tiny plant has even been taken on a space shuttle mission to watch it resurrect itself in space.
