As you all are aware 2017 is held during January 15th to 17th. This is a power packed must attend event for all the ecommerce and online firms. The best place to network with the folks from the online Industry, Learn and exchange great ideas on latest happenings and industry trends.
Here is my side of the story how affiliate summit has helped me personally. My first visit Affiliate summit west was in the year 2008 - That was 9 years ago! Woaaah... time flies but the thoughts remain just as fresh as yesterday. I was nervous on my first visit to ASW08, well to say that was my first visit to US. It was a long flight, I was anxious, and nervous too. I could hardly sleep in the flight and once I landed in Las Vegas, I got in to my room at Hotel RIO and that's the same place where affiliate summit was held. Next day morning - I woke up early, rather to speak I did not even sleep that night. I got straight to the event, picked up my merchant tag at the registration counter. I was nervous and lots of questions running in my head what next? How to I handle, what do I talk to the folks from the affiliate industry who are veterans in their domain. Believe me all these just vanished in a moment when I first met Deborah Carney from http://teamloxly.com/ whom I proudly call her as my momma and Rexanne Mancini She made me feel at home, down to earth.
Later I introduced to many other folks, to name few Billykay Billy Kay Music, Shawn Collins & Missy Ward founders of affiliatesummit.com, Brain from Shareasale.com, Carolyn Tang, Andy Rodriguez, Bill Swartwout and many more. These folks are filled with so of energy and fun interacting with them.
Here’s my advice and few tips for first time visitors for
- Make sure you are carrying enough business cards
- It’s an all-day event, you will need to plan carefully, so you don’t miss out on any meeting. You might have back to back meetings and believe me all these meetings will be very valuable and resourceful.
- Do wear some comfortable shoes preferably a flat sole with some extra cushion inside, It’s an all-day event
- Climate a Vegas is un-predictable. It gets very cold in the morning and extremely humid and hot during day, so dress accordingly.
- Keep a mint OR mouth freshener handy for obvious reasons.
- Network with as much as possible and say Hi to everyone, they are so receptive. And trust me, this relation you build at ASW takes you a long way both professionally and personally
- Be a good listener, you don’t need to sell anything, remember the folks you are meeting are veterans in their profession. They know what to pick and choose.
