Some of the world's biggest companies have names inspired by myths and places.

Nike is named after the Greek goddess of victory. Amazon takes its name from the Amazon River, reflecting the scale and ambition Jeff Bezos envisioned for the company.

But some take inspiration from stories.

The Lord of the Rings alone has inspired names like Shadowfax and Palantir, borrowing ideas of speed, endurance, and vision from Tolkien's world.

How significant is a company to its home country?

While a company’s revenue is not directly comparable to a country’s GDP, the ratio can still indicate its economic significance - and the country’s dependence on its largest company.

For example, Saudi Aramco’s revenue is equivalent to roughly 35% of Saudi Arabia’s GDP, compared with Amazon’s revenue at just 2.34% of US GDP. This contrast reflects the US economy’s greater diversification, with several large companies and industries, versus Saudi Arabia’s heavier dependence on a single company and the oil sector.

In India, Reliance Industries’ revenue is equivalent to roughly 3.19% of the country’s GDP.

How much gold or cash can you legally keep at home in India?

If you have the paper trail, there is no fixed limit.

But for jewellery without supporting documents, search-and-seizure guidelines generally protect up to the limits mentioned in the last slide.

Cash gifts are not always tax-free. Gifts from specified relatives or received on your marriage are generally exempt; gifts from others may become taxable when the applicable amount exceeds ₹50,000.
