Site Assistant — Trainee (3 months)

Location
LMS office, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar; daily site deployment across Marathwada
Working days
Monday to Saturday

Progression
Strong performers may be offered a Junior Assistant role at the end of the 3 months
Role
Support the field survey crew on day-to-day site work — boundary surveys, centerline setout, pole-fixing, and NA layouts. This is a hands-on, field-based role.
Responsibilities
Load, set up, and pack down equipment — total station, tripod, prism, staff, pegs, marking materials.
Hold the prism and staff at points as directed by the surveyor.
Assist with pole-fixing, peg-driving, chaining, and boundary marking.
Clear vegetation and minor obstructions at sighting points when needed.
Move quickly and accurately between points; keep line-of-sight clear during traversing.
Take site photographs — boundary markers, pole positions, reference points — as directed.
Look after equipment on site. Keep instruments clean and protected. Report any damage the same day.
Flag site conditions, owner queries, and disputes to the surveyor immediately. Do not handle client disputes on your own.
Requirements
Physically fit — able to walk long distances on uneven ground, stand in sun and heat, and carry equipment.
SSC (10th) minimum. ITI or polytechnic in civil or surveying is a plus.
Read and write Marathi. Basic numerical ability.
Punctual. Field crews leave at fixed times.
Willing to travel daily across Marathwada sites.
Respectful conduct with landowners, farmers, and other parties on site.
Honest about what you know and don't know. Ask when unsure — do not guess.
Preferred
Prior exposure to a construction site or survey team.
Two-wheeler licence.
Basic smartphone comfort — photographs, WhatsApp, location pins.
Selection
Short conversation at the LMS office.
Half-day site trial with a field crew — this is the main step.
Final discussion on stipend and start date.
