The EU is moving ahead with automated transport.

A recent article from Trans.INFO - transport, trucking and logistics news reports that eighteen EU transport ministers have signed a joint declaration to establish cross-border testing zones for autonomous vehicles. The initiative is designed to accelerate automated freight transport, logistics, and public transportation across Europe.

But autonomous vehicles crossing borders will encounter different road layouts, signage, infrastructure, weather, and lighting conditions. EU backs cross-border tests for autonomous trucks

Last week, the Foresight team was in South Korea conducting a Proof of Concept (PoC) with a leading Korean company specializing in workplace safety and intelligent transportation solutions.

The PoC is evaluating our stereo vision technology to enhance worker safety and real-time hazard detection. The system continuously monitors predefined Regions of Interest (ROI) and detects pedestrians, passenger vehicles, and trucks as they enter designated hazardous areas.

When an intrusion is detected, the system immediately activates an audible alarm and a flashing warning light, with the alert remaining active until the area is clear.

This collaboration demonstrates how Foresight’s 3D perception technology can improve workplace safety and smart infrastructure applications, while marking another important step in expanding our presence in the Korean market.
