Sometimes, it's all in the data 🔎

It's all well and good for us to preach about how AI-generated content is bad for marketing and bad for business, but sometimes it's about stepping back and letting the data analysis speak for itself.

A survey carried out by Bynder on 2,000 respondents across the UK and the US has uncovered:

👉 50% of consumers are able to spot AI-generated copy & content

👉 52% feel less engaged reading AI-generated content

👉 55% of 16- 24-year-olds prefer human-written articles

Meaning, all of that AI content you're creating and possibly think you're getting away with, you may not actually be...

In saying that, there definitely remains a use case for AI, with 82% of consumers not minding some use of AI, as long as it feels human

Circling back to our overarching point: AI is only as intelligent as the person using it. It isn't going to replace great marketing teams. It's making the ones who know how to use it properly unstoppable

There are growing conversations around data and digital sovereignty across the EU, with increasing focus on reducing reliance on large technology providers and giving organisations and individuals greater control over their digital infrastructure.

And it can start with something as simple as your email address.

If your email ends in .com or .com, your address is tied to the provider. If you ever decide to move away, changing providers can mean changing the address you've built your digital life around.

STOP & THINK BEFORE CAPTCHA VERIFICATION ❌

Fake CAPTCHA scams are on the rise, and knowing what to do is VITAL.

Scammers are piggybacking on the security check most sites use to separate bots from humans, the familiar "I'm not a robot" checkbox, to trick people into installing malware.

How is it happening? 👇

The fake CAPTCHA claims you need extra verification and secretly copies a malicious command to your clipboard, then tells you to open the Windows Run dialogue (Win + R) and paste it in "to complete the check", subsequently leading to an installation of malware onto the device.

What you need to look out for 👇

🚩 Being asked to download a file or paste/run a command
🚩 The CAPTCHA appears in a pop-up rather than on the page itself
🚩 The site address looks off, unfamiliar, or slightly wrong

The real version of CAPTCHA will never ask you to download anything or run unfamiliar commands.

Autopilot marketing. The marketing that steers and drives itself, or so it says. It’s becoming the default AI marketing strategy for businesses looking to cut costs and move fast.

We don’t know about you, but we’re not sure we would love the idea of getting on a plane that flies itself, with no one in control, no one overseeing emergencies or unprecedented situations and ultimately, no one to put your trust and safety in.

From an outsider’s perspective, we get how it sounds appealing to use AI for all of your marketing. It cuts costs, doesn’t require annual leave, sick days, pensions, the lot.

So yes, it only makes sense to head in this direction.
