The Melting Pot is looking for a Driver / Centre Assistant to join our team in Castle Court, Castle Street, Roscommon.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, flexible, innovative in their approach and committed to providing a quality service that responds to the individual needs and priorities of the people we support.
Your principal duties & responsibilities will be:
• To drive the Melting Pot van in accordance with legal requirements and procedures on meal delivery runs and any other business as directed
• Perform daily safety and maintenance checks
• Always clean the van after use or prior to next use
• Ensure the van is safely and securely parked and stored
• Advise the Manager of any requirements for maintenance or repairs
• To communicate with customers in a clear and concise and polite manner and to ensure they are respected and made to feel welcome
• To report any incident that involves injury, damage to any passenger, pedestrians or third-party promptly immediately to the Manager
• To carry our driving duties safely and be fully conversant with the duty of employees under the Health & Safety legislation
• To ensure prompt and accurate completion of all appropriate reports
• Assisting in the kitchen ensuring that all food preparation and production is carried out to the highest standards to ensure customer satisfaction and compliance with HACCP regulations
• Preparation and presentation of food to ensure compliance with food safety legislation
• To follow rigidly and observe all hygiene regulations in accordance with HACCP
• Report and, where possible, take action on incidents, accidents, near misses and damage as per Health & Safety requirements
• Report any faulty or damaged equipment immediately
• Ensure that all reasonable care is taken for the health and safety of yourself and others in
• Be aware of and promote Fire Safety rules and regulations
• Attendance of any training course required by management
• Promote the Service where possible with a view to its development and sustainability
• Undertake any other duties as required in order to keep the facility running smoothly
• Confidentiality to be maintained at all times
• Provide cover as required for staff across the Service
• Carry out all duties in accordance with the agreed policies and procedures The Melting Pot Community Society Ltd
Experience required
• A full clean Driving Licence is essential
• Experience of working with people in the community
• Experience of working in a food environment
• Knowledge of Community Services Programmes
Skills/Knowledge required
• Highly organized
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Health & Safety knowledge
• Garda vetting and satisfactory references are essential
• CSP Eligibility
