Meet Sorcha
Sorcha is a bright, creative 11-year-old with Dyslexia and ADHD. Full of amazing ideas, but putting them on paper was always a huge struggle. Before Touch Typing, homework that should take 30–45 minutes often dragged on for 2 hours or more.
Frustration and tears were common — messy handwriting, spelling worries, and constantly losing focus.
Sorcha would say, “I know what I want to write, but my hand won’t do it fast enough.”
School assignments caused anxiety. Monday often avoided writing tasks and felt behind compared to classmates.
Evenings at home were stressful for the whole family.

Homework that used to take 2 hours is now comfortably completed in 75 minutes.
Sorcha types confidently without looking at the keys — ideas flow freely from brain to screen.
Spelling has improved through muscle memory and the program’s phonics reinforcement.
Work is neat, organised, and easy for teachers to read — boosting Monday’s confidence and grades.
More time left for hobbies, relaxation, and family in the evenings.
Sorcha now says with a big smile:
“I don’t hate writing anymore… I actually enjoy it!”

Monday’s mum shared: “It’s like we finally unlocked the words that were trapped inside. The change in Monday’s confidence has been incredible. Homework battles are gone, and we have our evenings back!”

A New School Term. A Fresh Start. A Skill for Life.

As children head back to school this September, they're getting ready for new teachers, new classmates and new challenges.

Why not give them a skill that will support them throughout the entire school year—and beyond?

Touch typing is no longer just a useful skill—it's an essential one. Whether it's completing homework, researching projects, taking notes or preparing for exams, confident typing helps children work more efficiently and with greater confidence.

For children with dyslexia, dyspraxia (DCD) or other learning differences, touch typing can reduce frustration and help them focus on expressing their ideas rather than the physical act of writing.

Since 2008, Searsol has been helping children across Ireland develop this valuable life skill in our fun, supportive after-school classes.

Give your child the best possible start to the new school year.

🎯 Book a FREE typing assessment today and see how touch typing could make a real difference.

📅 September classes are now enrolling.

Meet the Tutor – Helping Children Thrive Through Touch Typing

Hi, I’m Sean Carthy, founder of Searsol and your dedicated touch typing tutor. Since 2008, I’ve been on a mission to transform how children – especially those who are neurodivergent – experience writing and learning difficulties. What started as a simple idea has grown into Searsol, a supportive program designed to make typing accessible, enjoyable, and life-changing for kids with Dyslexia, Dyspraxia (DCD), ADHD, and Autism.

Why I Started Searsol:
After years of seeing bright, capable children struggle with handwriting – watching their ideas get trapped because their hands couldn’t keep up – I knew there had to be a better way. Traditional methods weren’t working for many neurodivergent learners, so I created Searsol to offer a structured, multisensory touch typing programme that plays to their strengths instead of highlighting their challenges. Why I’m So PassionateI’m deeply passionate because I’ve witnessed firsthand how mastering touch typing can unlock a child’s true potential. When a child can type confidently without looking at the keys, the frustration disappears. Suddenly they can:
Express ideas fluently
Produce neat, readable work
Build confidence and self-esteem
Focus on what they want to say, not how to write it

Every success story – a child who goes from avoiding writing to happily completing school assignments, or a parent who tells me “this has changed our evenings” – reminds me why this work matters so much.I believe every child deserves the chance to shine academically and creatively, and touch typing is a powerful tool that opens doors for neurodivergent learners.Ready to give your child this skill for life?

New Research: Why Touch Typing Matters for Children with Dyslexia & Dyspraxia (DCD)

Recent research shows that structured touch typing can help children with dyslexia and dyspraxia become more independent, complete work more efficiently, and build confidence in the classroom.

Typing isn't just a computer skill—it's an essential life skill that can remove barriers to learning.

At Searsol, we've been helping children develop this skill since 2008.
