I was at a training course recently where I pointed out that everyone should be aware of the dangers of sharing information on the internet. To which a response was:
'If you have nothing to hide you have nothing to worry about'

Yesterday a new, and potentially huge, company in Ireland made the headlines. The idea is brilliant and of course simple.
But it relies on using information about you on Facebook.

So far so good on the 'If you have nothing to hide...'

BUT this application, like many others on Facebook uses access to your information, contact details, friends list, photographs, photos your friends have taken and tagged you in and so on to generate its product.

So, in one fell swoop you have given this application access to your friend's information....without their consent.

Would you give a total stranger your best friend's phone number and address without knowing what they were going to do with it?

What is Information?
Whether it's from a tecnical view or not Information is just
"Facts provided or learned about something or someone"

The 'facts' may or may not be accurate, but that in itself is Information (for example it may tell you about the source).
We at Progression tend to try and treat all Information in this way.
There is always something to be gleened from each interaction and it may be about yourself.....
