As National Customer Service Week comes to a close, we're celebrating the wider Lightnet team — the people working behind the scenes, out on the road and directly with our customers every day.

From our sales and accounts teams to customer support, technical specialists and engineers, providing great broadband service takes much more than technology. It takes people who listen, solve problems, share their knowledge and genuinely care about getting things right.

Throughout the week, we've shared some of the faces and stories behind Lightnet. And while we've only featured a few of our colleagues, every member of the team plays an important part in the service we provide.

🏆 Earlier this year, Lightnet was recognised with the **Customer Care Award at the JCI Galway Friendly Business Awards 2026**. It's an achievement we're proud to share as a team.

💚 Meet Our People | Laoise Larkin

Our National Customer Service Week introductions continue!

Today, we're getting to know Laoise, another member of the Lightnet team who helps customers with their broadband questions and everyday connectivity problems.

We asked Laoise what she enjoys about her work, what great customer service means to her and what keeps her busy outside the office!

💬 What do you enjoy most about working at Lightnet?

"What I enjoy most is being able to help people and make a difference to their day. Whether it's solving a problem, answering a question or simply reassuring a customer, it's nice to know you've made things a little easier for someone."

💬 What does great customer service mean to you?

"For me, great customer service is about listening, being approachable and making sure the customer feels heard. It's not just about fixing the problem — it's about keeping the customer informed, being honest with them and making the whole experience as straightforward and stress-free as possible."

💡 What's your advice for someone struggling with their home Wi-Fi?

"Don't panic! A lot of Wi-Fi problems can have a simple solution. I'd recommend restarting the router first, checking if the issue is across all devices and if the problem continues, get in touch with us rather than spending hours trying to figure it out yourself — that's what we're here for."

📚 And what keeps you busy outside Lightnet?

Laoise is a member of McNamee's Book Club and has also been involved with local drama group The Seumas O'Kelly Players.

She's also a keen crafter, with a seemingly endless list of projects on the go!

"I love to craft and I always seem to have some kind of project on the go! It could be embroidery, painting, candle-making, baking or even making a Halloween costume."

💚 Meet Our People | Chloe Gilchrist, Sales Executive

As part of National Customer Service Week, we're introducing the people behind Lightnet and finding out what customer service means to them.

Today, we're getting to know Chloe Gilchrist, one of the friendly voices helping customers find the right broadband for their needs.

💬 What do you enjoy most about your job at Lightnet?

"What I enjoy most about my job at Lightnet is helping customers better understand their broadband options and finding a service that best suits their individual needs.

Rather than simply offering a standard package or price, I try to take the time to understand what each customer is looking for and help them make an informed decision.

At Lightnet, we have a great team who share this approach and are committed to providing customers with the best possible experience."

💬 What does great customer service mean to you?

"To me, great customer service means being at the end of the phone for customers when they need us, taking the time to listen and making the process as simple as possible.

I'm a big believer in the value of personal interaction, and in a world where AI is becoming increasingly common, I think there is still nothing that beats a real conversation."

🏑 And outside of Lightnet?

Chloe is a player and PRO with Shamrocks Camogie Club, where she's actively involved in her local sporting community.

"Being involved in camogie is so important for me, particularly because of the camaraderie, friendships and sense of community it creates."

Her involvement as both a player and volunteer has also given her a greater appreciation of the role local sponsorship plays in helping clubs grow and develop — something close to our hearts at Lightnet, where we're proud to support local clubs and communities.
