Many thanks to Humans of Longford for sharing these fantastic photos of Alan and Calum, who are working hard on the conservation repair of one of the homes supported under the Built Heritage Investment Scheme 2026. This is a Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage conservation grant administered by Longford County Council.

This scheme helps the owners and occupiers of Protected Structures to undertake essential repairs using historic materials and skills, and supporting traditional skilled tradesmen such as thatchers.

🌟 Edgeworth Exhibition Launch 🌟
Pupils from Scoil Bhríde, Glen, Tashinny NS and Lenamore NS have come together as a creative cluster to explore the fascinating legacy of the Edgeworth family through art, research, and creativity.
From Maria Edgeworth's The Purple Jar and her influential literary works, to the inventions of Richard Lovell Edgeworth and the family's impact on the Irish education system, this exhibition celebrates literature, education, innovation, and the incredible work of our students.
📍 The exhibition will be on display in Edgeworthstown library for two weeks from 12th June.
🎉 Join us for the official launch on Friday, 12th June at 11am in the Library. All are welcome to attend the launch or visit the exhibition during the following two weeks.
We look forward to sharing this wonderful celebration of local history, creativity, and learning with the community.
