Just back from IFA Berlin and what a few days.

"The Future Is Now" was written everywhere, so let's hope it's in the right hands.

We saw some incredible developments across portable power, clean energy and battery storage, along with some future AI that, if I'm being truthful, put the fear in me a little. Maybe that's the amount of sci-fi books and movies I've ingested over the years!

The more I use AI and appreciate what an incredible tool it is, the more I value genuine human independent, random, spontaneous, unpredictable and unpolished thoughts.

It was fantastic to meet face-to-face with the manufacturers we already work with, strengthen those relationships and meet some very interesting new businesses, and to see where the industry is heading for the Irish market.

Off Your Grid is on the right track.

It's fair to say it's a bit warm in Kildare today 🌞

The amazing team the_coffeebus were really feeling the heat with the queues of customers and the sun beating down on the bus, so we brought over an EcoFlow Wave 2 from our unit and set it up for them.

Just neighbours helping neighbours and keeping the coffee flowing on one of the hottest days of the year.

If you're in Kildare Business Park and looking for a coffee, give The Coffee Bus a shout. You won't be disappointed ☕️

Off Your Grid supported Dublin Bay Foil Festival 2026 with clean, quiet charging on site.

Across the day, the charging station powered Foil Drive, AFS and Duotone rechargeable foil batteries, plus phones, cameras and laptops for athletes and crew. The DJ decks and stage sound system ran off an EcoFlow DELTA 2 Max, no generator, no noise, no mains connection.

One thing that stood out on the day: a 5-year-old 160W EcoFlow solar panel was still reading 157W output. That kind of performance after five years of Irish weather says a lot about what this equipment is actually capable of.

Thanks to Francois and the Pure Magic team for the invitation, and to everyone at the Dublin Bay Foil Festival community for a great day on the water.

Ireland's most adventurous Defender?

Spotting this chappie all over with his kayak, rooftop tent and of course a portable power station!

We have to admit, we’re more than a bit envious of this set up. Apparently admitting it is the first step to recovery!
