What a special afternoon at Hatch Lab yesterday!

As part of Ireland’s EU Presidency programme, we were delighted to welcome Viera Motešická, Ambassador of Slovakia to Ireland, and Ian Devine, Ireland’s Ambassador to Slovakia, during their visit to County Wexford.

It felt even more personal for us because our own Administrator, Zuzana Urbaníková, is originally from Slovakia.

We had a great hour showing our guests around, introducing them to the people who work here, and chatting about the community we’re growing in North Wexford.

A huge thank you to everyone who made the visit happen, and to Ambassador Motešická and Ambassador Devine for taking the time to visit us.

Huge congratulations to our Artist in Residence, Terence White!

Terence's film Life/Time has just had its European premiere at Thessaloniki Cinedance International in Greece, an official selection that puts his work in front of an international screendance audience.

Funded by the Arts Council of Ireland and created with his long-time collaborator, choreographer Róisín Whelan, Life/Time brings together dance, cinematography, original music and projection mapping.
It features dancers Philippa Donnellan, Sophie Gray and Sarah Ryan, and was made by a talented crew of Irish creatives.

While this project sits outside his residency with us, it's a brilliant reminder of the calibre of artist we're lucky to have at The Hatch Lab.

Having someone who is making such strides on the international stage as part of our community means our members and team get to learn from that ambition, craft and creative courage up close.

Mapping Your Creative Path happened with Sara Carroll it was exactly what we'd hoped for.
Young Innovators & Creators spent the day with us at The Hatch Lab and Sara Carroll of Waggle Learning took the group through the Design Your Life framework developed at Stanford

We tend to ask young people to pick a direction and commit, as if choosing is a single decision made once at 18.

The framework flips that, it treats your life as something you prototype, test and redesign.

This is what the Artist-in-Residence Programme is for; a creative practice as a way of thinking, brought into the questions that matter most to people at the start of their working lives.

Huge thanks to Sara Carroll, to John O' Connor, CEO of The Hatch Lab, and to our Artist-in-Residence, filmmaker Terence White.

The Artist-in-Residence Programme is funded by Wexford County Council through the CreativeIrl programme.

Congratulations to Matt Walsh winner of our spot prize at the launch of the Bank of Ireland Bank at Work & Financial Wellbeing Programme here at The Hatch Lab.

Thanks to everyone who dropped in to last Thursday's General Financial Clinic, and a big thank you to Martina Delahunt and the Bank of Ireland team for joining us on site to answer questions and run 1:1 appointments.
This is just the start of a full programme running through to September 2027.
