Computer DISC The DISC is a free service that supports all students with their self-directed learning in computing

What is the philosophy of Computer DISC?

•The DISC is an additional service to lectures and tutorials; do not attempt to use it as a substitute to these.
•Always prepare for your visits as much as possible.
•Students must bring along their lecture/tutorial notes. It is not possible to get help by showing up with a blank sheet of paper and an assignment sheet!
•Tutors CANNOT answer assignment ques

tions for you. They will, however, discuss a particular question provided the student has all of their work with them and the tutor is looking over the student’s own solution.

Return of the Disc: IT205 will open for support issues next Monday September 19th at 11 am. We have a slightly different setup this year, as we are reduced to 3 tutors, and therefore have made some changes, such as not running on Fridays (statistically the quietest day for us). We hope you have all had a good summer and are looking forward to ... uh... fixing bugs :-)

Here is our timetable for this semester. Keep in mind that the red slots are the online sessions. For example, on Monday from 11 to 12, Sai will be in the online room while Raymond will be in the DISC office in IT205.

Good news guys!

As promised, DISC will return next Monday (17th of January). We will be using a hybrid approach this semester. Thats right, we will also have an online tutor available at certain times during the week to help ye with computer science and programming!

Look out for the red slots in our new timetable, as these slots are the online sessions.

How to access this online service:
1. You will firstly need to sign in using our online form:

2. You can then access our Pubble page to get in touch with
one of our tutors:

3. You can arrange a 1-on-1 meeting with the tutor for difficult
questions.
