To anyone who did not get the points that they hoped for in their leaving cert today, PLEASE DO NOT LOSE HOPE of the goal you may have set yourself. While it may feel like you have lost out now, there are so many other paths to get to the same destination.
As Teacher Dungarvan College - Coláiste Dhún Garbhán for the past 25 years I have seen so many success stories of people who took a different route to achieve their dreams. LC Students who did not gain enough points, adults who wanted a change of career, people who returned to education after only getting as far as JC first time around. Each person with their own unique story. I have seen people pass through my classes who only came to try their hand at art, never even realising their potential and who found themselves going on to get a degree, or those who have used it to gain employment in an area they love, and also those who just uncovered a talent and a passion that they never knew they had to enhance their daily lives. Whatever the reason, if you feel like you would like to undertake a course in Further Education or at any of our PLC courses Dungarvan College - Further Education I or any of our PLC staff are more than happy to answer any questions or to steer you to a course that may be suitable. 👍😊
Last round of interviews are taking place the on the first week of September and some courses are already full so don't delay in sending in an application.
Also check out VTOS Dungarvan who offer Business and Art at Level 4 which may be of interest to some.
*the beautiful mural above is what greets you on your entrance and was painted by our fabulous Art Portfolio students of 2022.
