It's tempting to treat this as a quick payslip update and move on, but a rise at the bottom always ripples upward. For example, someone on €15.00 today looks fine against the current minimum, but by January there's only a 6c difference.

Here's a Budget 2027 change that's easy to miss ➡️ the USC 2% band ceiling is rising by €1,600, from €28,700 to €30,300.

Why does that matter? Without this USC adjustment, the minimum wage rise that's coming in January 2027 could've pushed people into a higher USC band and quietly eaten into the pay increase they were meant to get.
