We're proud to share a new joint case study with STMicroelectronics and Laurel Retail, a leading retail technology provider securing thousands of stores across Europe and the Middle East (including COOP).
Laurel built its access control gates on ST's STM32H7 MCU and VL53 Time-of-Flight sensors for fast, reliable real-time operation. But they also needed something more: a way for store teams to monitor, configure, and update gates remotely — without rolling a truck for every adjustment.
That's where Mongoose came in. By integrating Cesanta's embedded Web UI framework directly on the STM32H7, Laurel added a full browser-based dashboard, OTA firmware updates, REST API, and remote diagnostics — without building a web stack from scratch.
The result: faster commissioning, less downtime, and a smoother checkout experience for shoppers.
As Zoltán Héjj, Microcontroller Team Leader at Laurel, put it: "Cesanta took a major burden off our team. They let us add the reliable and production level web layer on STM32 far more easily than building it ourselves."
