Building a modern data platform with the Department of Education in Ireland. 💻

In this video case study, Deirdre McDonnell, Assistant Secretary General Dept of Education and Martin Clohessy, Principal Officer Major Operations Division Department of Education speak about our recent modernisation project.

In addition, Paul Chawke from Microsoft discusses our long-time partnership and this latest example of using Microsoft technology to deliver results and value for customers.

Saving time and lives on England’s roads for National Highways

By leveraging Microsoft Azure's cutting-edge technologies, Version 1 developed a solution to improve incident reporting and management across the UK’s strategic road network. This project earned a Global Microsoft Partner of the Year Award for Modernizing Applications.

As a result of our efforts, the National Incident Liaison Officers increased reporting speed by 150%, incident closure efficiency by 82%, and incident creation by 50%. Within one year, this transformational solution has logged over 5,000 incidents, enabling National Highways to respond swiftly, keeping road users safer every day.

The Microsoft Partner of the Year Awards recognises Microsoft partners that have developed and delivered outstanding Microsoft-based applications, services, and devices during the past year.

The accolade came out of our partnership with National Highways for the innovative transformation of their critical National Incident Liaison Officers (NILO) application.

We’d like to extend a huge thank you to our team who were involved in the project and our partners in National Highways for enabling Version 1 to be Microsoft’s Modernizing Applications Global Partner of choice.

This World Ocean Day, we celebrate our most important natural resource, and we take action.

Over the last month, Version 1 teams from around the world have come together for beach clean ups. From Belfast to Bangalore, we're so proud of our colleagues who have shown up - with other events in Dublin, Cork, London and Edinburgh.

We had experts teach us about the harm done by microplastics and the waste left by cotton ear buds and found out how tiny sponges which wash up on our shores are used to clean nuclear reactors!

75 people took part, with more than 200 kgs collected - including a full handsoap dispenser, vintage crisp packets and some underwear!

Thanks to everyone who came out and to the country organisers Mick O'Reilly, Ian Slattery, Graeme Robb, Celia Doublet, Kashyap Raja, Owen Parry, Rajdeep Dal, Vaishnavi R and especially Helen Lambe.

Anyone can make a difference for the future - together.
