💻A cyberattack is a malicious and deliberate attempt by an individual or organization to breach the information system of another individual or organization. Usually, the attacker seeks some type of benefit from disrupting the victim’s network. The person who carries out a cyberattack is termed as a hacker/attacker.
When an attack is carried out, it can lead to data breaches, resulting in data loss or data manipulation. Organizations incur financial losses, customer trust gets hampered, and there is reputational damage. To put a curb on cyberattacks, we implement cybersecurity. Cybersecurity is the method of safeguarding networks, computer systems, and their components from unauthorized digital access.
Cyber attacks can happen in various methods. For instance, a hacker can use phishing methods to trick a user into clicking a malicious link or entering their login credentials into a fake website. Alternatively, a hacker may cause damage to the vulnerability in the software to access other devices to steal sensitive information.
