Delighted to present the new packaging design of the Whipped Shea Body Butter for The Donegal Natural Soap Company
This is a project that continues to evolve over time, through an ongoing process of packaging refresh and the development of a more cohesive and recognisable range, progressively strengthening the brand identity.
The packaging is inspired by the style of loofah soap boxes, to maintain consistency with previous designs, but this time introducing a coloured background.
For this project, I worked on the graphic design and packaging, while Robert Vaughan created the beautiful hand-painted illustrations of the key botanical ingredients.

I had an unforgettable trip into the Darien region of Panama recently to visit a Harpy Eagle nest site. After a wonderful trip down the Chucunaque River, and a bit of a trek, we were able to spend a morning enjoying the incredible birds. The four month old chick was guaranteed to be still in the nest, but we were very fortunate to have the male visit for a little over 10 minutes. I am so grateful to my wife Sara  and her parents for organising this adventure.

I recently enjoyed a wonderful day at Glenveagh National Park, where the winners and runners-up of the Wainfest Children's Art Competition received their prizes.
It was an honour, and a lot of fun, to then lead a short workshop with all the talented Artists.

A few more highlights from our unforgettable trip to Costa Rica, hard to believe it was almost a year ago already!

The Resplendent Quetzal was probably our favourite bird of the trip, and we enjoyed wonderful views of displaying males and a pair visiting a nest over 3 days.

Having become very erratic in its appearances throughout 2025, I was delighted to catch up with the Double-crested Cormorant at Doon Lough for the first time since December 2024. 

A family party of Whooper Swans also fed close to the viewpoint, showing beautifully in the afternoon light.

This Treecreeper recently showed uncharacteristically well as it fed in the tangled lichens close to home. Usually a nightmare to track, this bird remained on show for an age as it loosely fed with a mixed flock of tits.

A few more photos from our day in Tra na gCloch and Maharoarty.

It was a lovely day at Tra na gCloch yesterday, the Harlequin Duck was showing really well on the rising tide and enjoying a bit of winter sunshine.
Sara and I were able to spend an enjoyable few hours photographing, sketching and painting him and making the most of the great weather.
After enjoying the wonderful views at Tra na gCloch, we made our way to Maharoarty to take in the beautiful beach and tranquil silence.
