official Microsoft support for Windows 11 version 24H2 (Home and Pro editions) ends on October 13, 2026.

Microsoft provides consumer editions of Windows 11 with exactly 24 months of servicing from their release date.

Devices still running this version after the deadline will stop receiving monthly security updates, vulnerability patches, and technical assistance.

Crucial Details to KnowAffected Editions: This deadline applies strictly to Home, Pro, Pro Education, and Pro for Workstations editions.

Automatic Upgrades:
To prevent security gaps, Microsoft automatically pushes the Windows 11 25H2 update to unmanaged consumer devices

How to Check Your Current Version:
Press the Windows Key + R on your keyboard to open the Run dialogue box.
Type winver and press Enter.
Look at the about window to verify if your version reads "24H2".

If you want to bypass the wait for the automatic rollout, you can manually trigger the migration to a newer version by opening Settings > Windows Update and clicking Check for updates.
