Second time’s a charm for our hollybops in the PTV
Picture this: end of August, caravan hitched, Collies on Tour mode activated, safety belts on, heading West for a week’s hollybops to Lough Ree, Doolin and Kilkee (complete with our head-out-the-window mode activated!). Then, the PTV (Puppy Transportation Vehicle)! 🚙💨 literally blew a gasket 5 miles from home. 💔
Absolute tragedy from our point of view! We went from “Yay, road trip!” to a cloud of smoke and after a few hours back home staring at the neighbors horses over the garden fence. Total betrayal. We demanded to see a mechanic immediately. 🐶👁️👁️
But round two was a total success! On Friday, we travelled to Lough Ree East Caravan & Camping in Athlone (the most pawsome park ever) and got all set up before we supervised Av, Mike and the pawrents as they had a lakeside dinner, where our main job was catching dropped snacks. 🥩
Saturday was all about the gorgeous Portlick Lake walk, though our pawrents got utterly lost following the blue arrows. Classic. 🙄 After navigating them out of the wilderness, we hit The Dog & Duck for a few pints and pulled the night shift staring at the local swans and ducks. 🦆🦢
Sunday, we headed to theCaherconnell Stone Fort & Sheepdog Demonstrations in the Burren, to say hello, to drop a special present to them and to make sure our cards looked pawfect. We got to watch their superstar collies show off their serious skills in the fields! The only difference between us? Those working collies do a stellar job keeping their flock in line, while we strictly handle the art and design side of the business! 🎨🐕 (No sheep chasing required when you’re this creative 🐑💅). Then we made a vital cuddle-stop with Anne in Ennis! ❤️
By Monday, we let the pawrents chauffeur us home while we snored in the back. Good friends, creative collies, and a PTV that actually survived the commute. Perfection! ✨🚗
