A year of growth, scale, and sustainability 🌱

This year taught me that sometimes less really is more. Fewer clients, but bigger names! Working with national brands and industry leaders meant stepping up to greater responsibility (and honestly? I loved every minute of it).

The sustainability sector became a cornerstone of my work, with two major eco-focused brands on board and something really exciting is brewing for 2026 👀

Hot take: AI hasn't replaced designers. If anything, 2025 proved that strong graphic design and planning skills (especially for complex, large-scale projects) are more valuable than ever.

My Squarespace training finally got its moment to shine ✨ New processes, smoother workflows, and web design packages launching soon.

And while I'm working with businesses across the Island of Ireland and the UK, there's something special about supporting Donegal brands. Here's to bringing more local magic in 2026 🇮🇪

Creative Connections is an evening to celebrate, support, and connect creatives working across the North West. Taking place in Letterkenny at the RCC (Regional Cultural Centre), this one-night gathering brings together some of the most exciting voices from across the creative industries for talks, live illustration, printmaking, live music, and a relaxed evening of connection and conversation. In 2024, the PEACE IV funded Courthouse Shared Space Creative Hub officially opened its doors in Bushmills — a space where innovation, inclusion and inspiration come together. From artisan retail and hospitality, to bespoke maker studios and collaborative events, this hub is a beacon of connection for people across the Causeway Coast and Glens.

When Enterprise Causeway asked us to create a sub-brand for their slow-food, tapas-style Bistro, we knew it had to reflect the elegance and energy of the parent brand — while standing confidently on its own.

🔷 Inspired by the iconic Causeway coastline, we kept the styled hexagon motif and heritage-rich palette, introducing:
✔️ A sleek, contemporary aesthetic
✔️ A sketch of the 1834 Courthouse façade
✔️ A subtle shift in typography for unique identity

The result? A modern, memorable brand that elevates the space and brings the Bistro to life.

Exciting News! 🚀

After months of collaboration with Shauna at Velvet Interiors, I'm thrilled to announce the launch of her new website! It's the culmination of our branding journey that began back in the summer of 2022.

Shauna and her dedicated team have poured their heart and soul into meticulously planning, staging, and executing multiple photoshoots as well as building content and providing direction on the site. The result? A website that not only showcases her exceptional work, but also captures the essence of her warm and welcoming business nestled in the Northern Ireland countryside.

The feedback from clients, suppliers, and peers has been overwhelmingly positive, and I'm excited to share the fruits of our labour with you.

Last week I attended a talk on goal setting which was hosted by and was our special guest! A wonderful, practical and inspiring talk on the right way to approach and set goals, and how to actually put them in action.

I also couldn't help buying Ciaras beautiful 90 day planner which was designed by Letterkenny based designer Fiona O Reilly. You know me...a sucker for a pretty notebook!

☃️ As I come to the end of 2023, it's time to reflect on what's been a solid wee year for my business, despite bad health knocking me off my feet for the majority of it.

🤓 I didn't take on as many clients as I would have wanted this year, but I am grateful for the steady stream of freelance work that I got to do for others and the wonderful experience I gained from working with them all. It allowed me some space to get physically stronger, as well as learn how to be a better designer.

🖍 I ended the year tying up some loose ends on a wonderful brand I had worked on this autumn for Enterprise Causeway. Their exciting community project The Courthouse in Bushmills will be opening its door in the Spring of 2024, so while the brand hasn't officially been launched, this is a little preview at the brand's colour palette. I'm can't wait to share all about in it 2024 and see the entire building and project come together.

Today is day, an opportunity for those of us who live, work and play here to shout about what an amazing place it is to be!

I feel incredibly lucky to be able to call this place home, to run my small business from here and support the area.

Those of us who grew up here, have always experienced emigration as Donegal has notoriously been a County that had low investment and career opportunities. But since COVID the opportunity to live and work here has become greater than ever.

My hope is that more people see the value to doing business in this incredible County and that more opportunities are given to the future generations here.

Brand expansion for Accountant G.Doherty Accountancy Services This was a lovely project to work on as Geraldine came to me with a logo and nothing more. I updated and modernised her original logo, designed a suite of social templates, stationary and gave her simple guidelines to follow. The outcome has given Geraldine the confidence to show up online and to start to promote her services in a more consistent way.

I've just finished working with a client in expanding their brand. They came to me with a logo - nothing else. They were totally lost and didn't know how to promote their brand as a result. Logos are not brands, and brand expansions / tool kits are crucial for any business to have at their disposal.

Brand expansions are ideal for businesses who:

✅ Have a logo, but have no way to express their brand visually

✅ Need a simple toolkit with guidelines to keep them on track, and on brand

✅ Not mature enough for a full scale re-brand

✅ In a spin with the tens of thousands of templates available on Canva, meaning no brand consistency
