Beberapa orang bertanya-tanya, headphone/ earbud/ iem apa yg bagus?

Nah kalau boleh sharing sedikit ya, bagus tidaknya didunia audio sangatlah subyektif, bukan berarti cans berharga mahal pasti 'lebih bagus' suaranya bagi telinga masing2 orang, sebaliknya juga begitu, cans berharga cuma puluhan ribu bukan berarti pasti jelek suaranya ditelinga masing2 orang.
Tuhan menciptakan manusia dengan indera pendengaran dan kemampuan untuk mendengarkan spektrum audio yg berbeda beda, syukurilah apa yg telah dianugerahkan oleh Tuhan kepada kita, kalaupun ada yg berpendapat berbeda dgn yg kita dengarkan, haruslah kita hormati karena memang telinga kita berbeda.
Saya coba mengutip motto dari rekan2 audiophile-id yg sudah lama hilang dari peredaran, yaitu: "Trust your own ears", ini adalah ungkapan yg paling benar menurut pendapat saya pribadi.
Jadi tidak usah bergantung pada hasil review seseorang thd suatu barang, gunakanlah hasil review hanya untuk mempersempit pilihan jika mau membeli barang audio, selalu lakukan test secara pribadi, pilihlah sesuai kemampuan telinga dan kantong, inilah pilihan yang paling bijaksana.

Nah berbicara soal audio tidak lepas dari yg namanya frekuensi. apakah frekuensi itu?

Frekuensi adalah jumlah getaran atau gelombang dalam waktu sedetik, satuannya adalah Hertz

Frekuensi suara pada dasarnya dibagi menjadi 3 bagian yaitu:
1. Frekuensi dibawah 20Hz , disebut infrasonic
2. Frekuensi diatas 20 .000Hz (atau 20 KHz) disebut ultrasonic
3. Frekuensi diantara 20Hz dan 20.000Hz disebut dengan audiosonic

Frekuensi audiosonic inilah yg dapat didengar oleh telinga manusia rata2, knapa disebut rata2? karena setiap individu manusia diberikan anugerah yg berbeda-beda oleh sang pencipta, ada yg tidak bisa mendengar frekuensi tertentu dalam range audiosonic tsb dan sebaliknya ada yg bisa mendengar frekuensi diluar range audiosonic tsb.

Bagaimana kalau kita tidak bisa mendengar secara penuh rentang 20Hz sampai 20.000Hz tsb?
Nggak usah berkecil hati atau minder, karena kita tetap masih bisa nikmati kok musik atau lagu yg ada........juga setup atau peralatan audio gear kita juga blm tentu sempurna memproses seluruh frekuensi yg ada.
jadi pada prinsipnya, nikmati saja apa yg sdh kita miliki dari Tuhan, setuju?

Ok kita persempit ruang bahasan audionya ya? karena kita mau diskusi dan belajar ttg audio (portabel khususnya), maka sekarang kita coba masuk ke bahasan bagaimana suara/ musik ditangkap oleh indera pendengar kita.

The ear drum converts the sound waves to vibrations and transmits them to the cochlea (or inner ear). But in some cases vibrations are heard directly by the inner ear – bypassing your ear drums. Musik masuk melalui pendengaran telinga luar, telinga tengah, telinga dalam sampai pada satu organ yg disebut koklea yg berfungsi mengubah getaran mekanis menjadi sinyal (aliran listrik) yg dikirimkan ke otak melalui syaraf auditori.

Nah, kalau sudah sampai ke otak kita maka bisa memberikan bermacam persepsi, dari rasa nyaman sampai rasa pekak telinga.

Definisi kata audio:

Noun/ kata benda:
the audible part of a transmitted signal , an audible acoustic wave frequency, a recording of acoustic signals, the sound elements of television
kira2nya begini, bagian dari sinyal transmisi yg dapat didengar telinga, suatu frekuensi yg dapat didengar secara akustik, suara rekaman dari sinyal akustik ataupun bagian suara dari elemen televisi

Adjective:
bersifat dapat didengar; alat peraga yg bersifat dapat didengar (msl radio)

Jadi audio tidak merujuk pada suatu hal tentang musik saja ya.

RSA Shadow information: (from the builder's website)

The Shadow is designed to be the ultimate portable amp with precision digital volume control. As the more demanding IEMs have been surfacing, the more accurate volume control is needed to precisely exhibit accurate & balanced audio between the two channels, left & right. This is very important due to the sensitivity of these IEMs. At the same time the sound stage becomes fully focused & dead luck in the middle as the volume goes up or down. With that kind of precision between the two channels the music is portrayed in 3Ds, thus the location of the instruments & the singer is better displayed to give you the pleasure of almost being there, also the depth & the height of the sound stage improves due to the accuracy of the digital volume control.

Let me state some thing very important to our friends where ever they are, the Shadow is not designed to be used with high impedance headphones, nor is designed for an inefficient ones. Yes it does drive those phones to a certain volume which might be good enough for some low headphone listeners, but it won’t be enough volume for loud volume listeners. I just want to be clear on this. The shadow can deliver a whopping 250ma per channel to each driver with no problem, this is enough current to satisfy all the professional low impedance headphones, also can swing the entire battery voltage up to 4.2VDC with no problem, this voltage is enough to kick the hell out of the Pro. low impedance phones.

The Shadow has a gain of THREE. It is enough gain to make all in ears monitors & low impedance headphones sound great & with ample of volume for every one.

Two of the most important features of the Shadow, that OTHERS can’t claim with their digital volume control amps, is that the SHADOW has no input & output CAPACITORS in the SIGNAL PATH. That by it self is the most important feature when it comes to coloring the sound. No matter how expensive the caps might be. As some one has said & indicated it in writing, Rule # 1, NO CAPS IN THE SIGNAL PATH.

The second feature of the Shadow is the length of the play back time from a single charge. Using IEMs you can get up to 72 hours of pleasure, listening to your favorite music while on the go, that is 9 days at 8 hours per day, at 4 hours of listening the charge would last 18 days, WOW.

The Shadow will come with an adaptor, 5 volts 1 amp. The end plug of the adaptor is a mini USB. Please keep in mind that the Shadow has no DAC in it, it is designed with this connector so you can charge your Shadow with your desk top or your lap top. The little red LED on the back of the shadow will go off once the battery is fully charged.

IMPORTANT… NO harm is done if you keep the shadow on the charger all the time. The Shadow will play back during the charging period. IMPORTANT…Don’t use another charger with the Shadow as you might burn the charging circuitry & damage the battery. The warranty won’t cover such a mistake.
