Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning is an upcoming American action spy film directed by Christopher McQuarrie from a screenplay he co-wrote with Erik Jendresen. The direct sequel to Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One (2023), it is the eighth installment in the Mission: Impossible film series.[3] Tom Cruise, Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Vanessa Kirby, Esai Morales, Pom Klementieff, Henry Czerny, Angela Bassett, and Rolf Saxon reprise their roles from the previous films.[4][5]

In January 2019, Cruise announced that the seventh and eighth Mission: Impossible films would be shot back-to-back with McQuarrie writing and directing both films. Plans for the film later changed in February 2021. Returning and new cast members were announced soon after, and Lorne Balfe, who composed the scores for two previous films in the series, returned to score the film. Filming began in March 2022 in the United Kingdom, with other filming locations including Malta, South Africa and Norway. Production was halted in July 2023 due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, and resumed in March 2024 before concluding by November 2024. The film, originally titled Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two, dropped its subtitle in October 2023, and the new subtitle was announced in November 2024. With an estimated budget of $400 million, it is one of the most expensive films ever made.

The Final Reckoning is set to have its world premiere at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival on May 14, 2025, prior to its scheduled theatrical release on May 23, by Paramount Pictures.

Pandora (Korean: 판도라) is a 2016 South Korean disaster film written and directed by Park Jung-woo, starring Kim Nam-gil. The film was released in South Korea on December 7, 2016.[3]

Plot ::
Jae-hyeok is a young man who works at the aging Hanbyul Nuclear Power Plant, which is their namesake town's only source of energy and jobs and is currently undergoing construction of the second reactor unit. Jae-hyeok, who lost both his father and brother working at the plant in his early years, lives with his mother, sister-in-law, and nephew Min-jae. Jae-hyeok expresses his desire to leave the town and the plant behind him and work on a fishing vessel to make money for his family, but is discouraged by everyone he knows, including his childhood friend-fiancee, Yeon-joo.

Pyeong-seok is one of the head operators of the plant, who, along with other plant workers and a group of anti-nuclear activists, tries to get the President of South Korea Seok-ko Hang, to shut down the plant, whose safety inspections had been inadequately rushed during the construction of the first unit, but their concerns are dismissed by the other senior plant operators, especially the Prime Minister. An earthquake suddenly strikes the town, causing the nuclear reactor to overheat. Due to aging safety systems, attempts to cool down the overheating reactor are botched.

Meanwhile, Hang's administration fiercely debates between allowing the reactor to vent radioactive particles into the air to relieve pressure from the core or evacuating large population centers around the plant, eventually settling on evacuating residents closest to the reactor, but the town's streets became gridlocked as there is no contingency plan in place. This critical delay led to the reactor building exploding before the crew can open the pressure release valves, killing or injuring most of the plant workers, alongside Jae-hyeok, who eventually collapses from nuclear radiation poisoning.

The KCDC quarantines the town's residents not far from the reactor. However. after Yeon-joo gets proof that the reactor exploded and delivers the news, they set up an internet jammer and locks the evacuees inside the evacuation center, as they, along with most of the nurses abandon the town to leave them to die, with the exception of Mi-sook, a junior nurse who is now treating Jae-hyeok and other plant workers. Yeon-joo, along with the town's residents manage to break out from the evacuation center and commandeers one of the buses for their citizens to escape.

Despite the firefighters' efforts, some firefighters start to suffer from radiation poisoning as the reactor continues overheating. Hang, after being demoralized since the power plant explosion, finally regains control of the situation and orders the firefighters to use seawater to successfully decommission the reactors. Upon discovering that spent fuel rods are losing coolant due to the damage sustained by the earthquake, Hang addresses to the nation on television, requesting aid from the plant workers to seal the cracks of the tank above the plant's waste room to prevent coolant from escaping when the Army refuses to perform that operation.

Jae-hyeok, although resentful due to the government's negligence, eventually agrees for the sake of the people, and after one of his friends, Gil-seop, convinces them to go. Jae-hyeok calls a distraught Yeon-joo before getting on a bus back to the town along with their surviving crew. During their operation, the crack underneath the coolant tank grew bigger and they are ordered to retreat. Jae-hyeok suggests they seal the door and blow up the tank to allow the spent fuel rods to fall into the basement, effectively creating a new tank.

However, at the current situation, both of these steps must be executed simultaneously, meaning that one will not be leaving out alive. Jae-hyeok, the only person among the group who can operate explosives and having already been too sick from radiation poisoning, volunteers to sacrifice himself, allowing the workers to then seal himself into the waste room before fleeing the area. Jae-hyeok uses his helmet-mounted camera to broadcast a farewell message to his family and Yeon-joo before blowing up the tank, killing himself in the process.

Hijack 1971 (Korean: 하이재킹; lit. Hijacking) is a 2024 South Korean action thriller film written by Kim Kyeong-chan and directed by Kim Seong-han, starring Ha Jung-woo, Yeo Jin-goo, Sung Dong-il and Chae Soo-bin. The film is based on the hijack attempt of a Korean Air F27 airliner in 1971. It was released theatrically on June 21, 2024.[3][4]

Plot ::
In December 1969, South Korean fighter pilot Tae-in intercepts an airliner hijacked by a North Korean agent. He refuses to fire on the plane before it reaches North Korean airspace, fearing for the passengers' safety and recognizing the pilot to be his friend and former mentor Young-sook. The plane reaches North Korea and Tae-in is kicked out of the air force for disobeying orders. Later 39 of the plane's 46 passengers are repatriated back to South Korea but the other seven passengers and the plane's four crew, including Young-sook, end up remaining in North Korea indefinitely. Tae-in later finds a job as a pilot with Korean Air.

In January 1971, Tae-in and captain Gyu-Sik command a Fokker F27 flight from Sokcho Airport to Gimpo International Airport in Seoul. After take off, passenger Yong-dae detonates two improvised explosive devices, one which blows a hole in the cabin floor, injuring several passengers and an air marshal, and the other destroying the lock on the cockpit door, partially blinding Gyu-Sik and forcing Tae-in to take over. Yong-dae takes control of the cockpit and demands the pilots take the plane to North Korea, threatening them with a knife and another improvised explosive device.

During turbulence, several passengers attempt to attack Yong-dae but he manages to get hold of the air marshal's gun. Tae-in tries to land at a remote airstrip but Yong-dae threatens to blow up the plane; in retaliation Yong-dae shoots Tae-in in the leg. Yong-dae explains that he and his family were ostracized for having a North Korean brother and believes that he would be treated better there.

The plane is intercepted by South Korean fighter jets, led by Tae-in's former comrade Dong-cheol, who warns Tae-in that North Korean fighters are also approaching to intercept. Tae-in outmanoeuvres the fighters' attempts to shoot his engines and Yong-dae loses his gun in the chaos. Faced with worsening odds, Tae-in and Gyu-Sik decide to crash land the plane on a beach; Yong-dae attempts to wrest control back but Tae-in fights him before Yong-dae is shot and killed by the air marshal. When Yong-dae's remaining explosive device detonates after he dies, Tae-in uses his body to shield the passengers from the blast, mortally wounding himself. Gyu-Sik successfully lands the plane on the beach with the help of a flight attendant and a dying Tae-in. All the passengers are evacuated safely but Tae-in dies of his wounds while still sitting in the cockpit.

Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith is a 2005 American epic space opera film that is the sequel to The Phantom Menace (1999) and Attack of the Clones (2002). It is the sixth film in the Star Wars film series, the third installment in the Star Wars prequel trilogy, and third chronological chapter of the "Skywalker Saga". It is written and directed by George Lucas, who also served as executive producer. The film stars Ewan McGregor, Natalie Portman, Hayden Christensen, Ian McDiarmid, Samuel L. Jackson, Christopher Lee, Anthony Daniels, Kenny Baker, and Frank Oz.

Revenge of the Sith is set three years after the onset of the Clone Wars, as established in Attack of the Clones, which depicts the rise of Darth Sidious and the Galactic Empire as well as Anakin Skywalker turning to the dark side of the Force, which will have wide-ranging consequences in the galaxy that lead to the extermination of the Jedi.

Lucas began writing the script before production of Attack of the Clones ended, citing that he wanted the end of the trilogy to have similar aspects to a romantic tragedy, thus building into Darth Vader's state at the beginning of the next film. Production of Revenge of the Sith started in June 2003, and filming took place in Australia with additional locations in Thailand, Switzerland, China, Italy, and the United Kingdom.

Revenge of the Sith premiered on May 15, 2005, at the Cannes Film Festival, and was theatrically released in the United States on May 19. The film received mostly positive reviews from critics, with praise towards the mature themes, darker tone, emotional depth and performances, although some criticism was reserved for Lucas' screenplay and Christensen's performance; it is considered by many to be the best installment of the trilogy. It broke several box office records during its opening week and earned $868.4 million worldwide, making it the second-highest-grossing film in the Star Wars franchise at the time. It was the highest-grossing film in the U.S. and the second-highest-grossing film worldwide in 2005. It also holds the record for the highest opening-day gross on a Thursday, making $50 million. It was the final Star Wars film to be distributed by 20th Century Fox, although it also would be acquired by Disney over six years after it acquired Lucasfilm.

Here’s the latest trailer for Danny Boyle’s upcoming 28 Years Later. Previously shown to exhibition during Sony‘s CinemaCon presentation earlier this month, the new look offers more insight into what’s in store for the next installment of the zombie thriller franchise. Check it out above.

Written by Alex Garland and starring Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jack O’Connell, Alfie Williams and Ralph Fiennes, the story picks up nearly three decades after the rage virus escaped a biological weapons laboratory in 28 Days Later. Now, still in a ruthlessly enforced quarantine, some have found ways to exist amidst the infected.

One such group of survivors lives on a small island connected to the mainland by a single, heavily-defended causeway. When one of the group (Taylor-Johnson) leaves the island on a mission into the dark heart of the mainland, he discovers secrets, wonders and horrors that have mutated not only the infected but other survivors as well.

“Once you walk onto that mainland, there’s no rescues,” we hear as zombies are hunted and attack. Says Fiennes’ Dr. Kelson ominously, “There are many kinds of death… And some are better than others.”

The first trailer, which dropped back in December and is the third most-watched horror trailer ever with 60.2 million views in its first 24 hours, had featured Taylor-Johnson’s paternal figure guarding the green fields of England with a bow and arrow, accompanied by the unsettling sound of a Taylor Holmes recording of Rudyard Kipling’s war poem “Boots.” The poem also provides chilling background to the new trailer.

28 Years Later is set for domestic release on June 20. Producers are Andrew Macdonald, Peter Rice, Bernard Bellew, Boyle and Garland. 28 Days Later star Cillian Murphy exec produces. Murphy does not appear in 28 Years Later, but is expected to turn up down the line. Said Boyle at CinemaCon, “like all good things in life you may have to wait a while for him to make his appearance.”

The second film in the newly revamped trilogy — 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple — will hit North American theaters on January 16, 2026. At CinemaCon, Boyle told the Las Vegas audience that he doesn’t have finance for the third movie and urged exhibition to “support the continuing apocalypse” so he “might get to come back here with the third film.”
