We don't always have time for distant dive trips. Sometimes we can only escape from work for a day or two, so this time we chose Čierna Voda, Slovakia for a short, relaxing getaway.

And of course, if there's water, there's underwater photography. 📷🐟

The carp at Čierna Voda are always amazing subjects. Here's one of my favorite shots from the dive, captured in TTL mode, shooting directly into the sun.

It is always a pleasure when a truly knowledgeable photographer writes an article about one of our products.

This is not the first time Nicolas has written an extremely detailed article, covering even the smallest details. This time, he put the e-TURTLE 3 SMART trigger to the test, exploring what this great little device is really capable of.

If you are considering which trigger to choose for your Canon mirrorless camera, this article is definitely worth reading.

Thank you very much, Nicolas, for this excellent and incredibly detailed article!

We wish you great dives and beautiful photos!

Less than a day has passed, and another fantastic strobe has been added to the SMART 3 trigger knowledge base.

Alongside the new Sea & Sea YS-D130R, the MF-3 strobe from Backscatter has also been added in a way that is unique worldwide. Our Nikon, Sony, and Canon triggers are now capable of controlling the MF-3 strobe in SONY mode. (TTL!!!!!)

Olympus, of course, can handle one of the most versatile macro snoot strobes in RC mode!

The setup software is currently available for PC, and the Mac version will be uploaded to the website within a few days.

SMART 3 is getting even smarter.

We’ve expanded compatibility with a new strobe:

– Sony, Canon, and Nikon TTL characteristics are now integrated into SMART TTL
– Olympus RC mode, and HSS functionality has also been fully tested!

Thinking about running your Sea&Sea YS-D130R in TTL?
The e-TURTLE 3, i-TURTLE 3, or S-TURTLE 3 SMART could be your best solution.

Updated SETUP software will be available on our website soon.

Our customers ask — we make it happen.

We often receive unique requests:
custom-length LED cables, special adapters, custom mounts…
and we take every one of them seriously.

We listen.... We design....
We build solutions that actually work in real-world conditions.
—
This mindset led to our latest development:
a new product designed specifically for Nikon MILC cameras,
featuring a separated hotshoe solution.

Why is this important?
Because in many housings where space above the camera is extremely limited,
a traditional setup simply doesn’t fit.

This new design solves that problem —
clean, compact, and reliable.
—
Driven by real needs. Built for real use.

Recently, underwater photographer and journalist Nicolas Remy contacted me because he was looking for a trigger for Canon cameras.
At that time, only the manual version was available, so that was the one we could send him.
Nicolas tested it extensively over several weeks, carefully evaluating it and shooting many photos with it.
He then put his impressions down in writing.

Please take the time to read it — it’s well worth it. The article is extremely detailed and highly professional!

Thank you for the great article, Nicolas Remy

Since switching to Canon in May 2025, I’ve had the opportunity to try four different flash triggers on the Canon R5 Mark II, which is the camera I’ve been using for this review. This article focuses on my favourite trigger to date: the Smart 3 Manual Flash Trigger, from TRT Electronics.
