Red House Apps

Red House Apps We build stunning web and mobile applications for startups. Our primary strengths are Javascript Web Development and Mobile App Development.

We excel at creating highly functional, good-looking apps from the ground up, through an effective, customer-friendly process. Our user experience team first helps you build the foundations of your app with field research and prototype building, and then our design team works their magic to create stunning user interface and branding designs. Once these stages are complete, our senior software eng

ineers build the application during a continuous, 2-week delivery period, which you can read more about below.

--Delivery process--

We use Scrum, an incremental agile software development framework. Benefits include:
• Cross-functional teams develop projects in an interactive manner
• Product review in the early stages of development
• Agility and continuous feedback, enabling fast ROI and reducing risk

Beginning of a Project:
• Team introduction
• Project Analysis
• Time Estimation (Planning Sprints)

Project Development Strategy:
1. Writing a backlog with the Client
2. Prioritizing backlog items
3. Setting up timeboxed sprint cycles
4. Creating the MVP through continuous feedback and learning
5. Intensive functional testing

Sprint Cycles:
• One Sprint is usually 2 weeks long
• Sprint goals are fixed, no major change during a sprint
• Self-Organizing team continuously estimates time and assigns tasks
• Daily scrum: Interactive team stand-up meetings (10 mins per day)
• After a sprint ended review and analyze

Technology
• JIRA for Project Management (keep track of tasks and sprints)

--UX/UI workflow--

UX research
Contains:
• Field research (observe, interview)
• Information Architecture
• Scenarios and use cases (patient, doctors)
• Sitemap
• Paper prototype
• Interactive usability testing (3 pieces)
• High-fidelity wireframe
• 2nd Interactive usability testing (min. 3 pieces)

Field research (observe, interview)
Target group identification, conducting interviews
Output: shared excel file, person, user journey, empathy map

Information Architecture (IA)
In the IA all the text and functions are organized into a prioritized order. There is no visual hierarchy yet, only content hierarchy. Output: shared excel file

Scenarios and use cases
Based on the IA we determine the main scenarios. With these we cover the general ans special cases

Output: shared excel/google docs

Sitemap
Based on the IA and scenarios we create the sitemap, where we place all the content onto the appropriate screens. Navigation gets clearer. (focus is on mobile view)

Output: pdf/png

Paper prototype
Based on the scenarios we create the first paper plan. This paper prototype allows for the arrangement of the content units and functions prior to testing. It also enables rapid correction of any errors which surfaced during testing. Output: Paper prototype

Interactive Usability testing (3 times)
We test the paper prototype in an interactive way. Output: video recording, final paper plan

High-fidelity wireframe
Based on the final paper prototype we create the high-fidelity wireframe, which includes the final text (testing without this does not work). The wireframe does not contain the final font, colors, brand, pixel-accurate retention (these are added later). Output: navigable Invision prototype

Interactive usability testing (min. 3 times)
We test the wireframe in an interactive way. With 3 tests, 70% of usability errors are solved. Needs: test subjects from the target group. Output: video recording, High-fidelity navigable Invision or UXpin prototype

UI design

Consists of:
• Logo
• Brand, Image
• UI design

Logo
Logo design after competition/benchmark analysis, max. 2-3 versions

Output: Vector Logo

Brand and Image
Designing brand Image

Output: Brand image: font, colors, design items (illustration, photo) vector format

UI Design
Design the UI based on the high-fidelity wireframe

Output: UI prototype in Invision, Sketch file, png, design assets, Invision inspect mode: css

Interactive usability testing (min. 3 times)

Needs: test subjects from the target group. Output: video recording, navigable design proto
