His presentation, “Why SIR is the Cornerstone of Characterising Electronic Materials”, will explore why Surface Insulation Resistance (SIR) testing is essential for assessing the reliability of electronic materials and manufacturing processes.

Andy will discuss electrochemical migration (ECM), the impact of moisture and ionic contamination, and how SIR testing helps reveal potential reliability risks. The presentation will also cover complementary methods such as SEC/PICT, Ion Chromatography and FTIR, as well as emerging condensation-based SIR testing.

We are pleased to introduce Axel Wolff, Sales Manager Europe, SMT Inspection Solutions at Viscom SE.

His presentation will focus on the required minimum fill rate – or tin pe*******on – for THT solder joints according to the IPC-A-610 standard. For quality Classes 2 and 3, the default requirement is a minimum of 75% fill of the PCB thickness.

Axel will present sample X-ray images and demonstrate how Viscom’s specialized AXI and hybrid inspection solutions enable precise and reliable inspection of THT assemblies.

Take your SMT manufacturing expertise to the next level with our intensive two-day “Reflow Soldering and Stencil Printing” Know-how Seminar in Wertheim, Germany.

The seminar combines theoretical knowledge with a strong focus on hands-on practical application**, covering the key processes involved in stencil printing and reflow soldering of high-pole SMT and QFN components.

During the practical sessions, participants will:
• Gain process-relevant knowledge through experiments on a paste printer and reflow soldering system
• Assess and evaluate stencil printing results
• Create, measure, and analyze temperature profiles
