At the Advent Wine Salon 2023 event, a key to the future made its debut: Augmented Reality (AR). The organizers made a huge impact by enriching the festive atmosphere with AR visual elements. For the first time in Hungary, a wine event showcased an AR visual show, enthusiastically embraced not only by the younger generation but also by the older one. AR points towards the future and has already left its mark on the Hungarian wine scene since the event.
As the famous saying goes, "AR becomes an essential part of our lives not only after the internet but also after meals." Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, expressed that AR will soon become an integral part of our daily lives. It's not just a technological innovation; it's an experience. Drawing inspiration from Augmented Reality, verAR is simultaneously sexy, spectacular, and entertaining. Particularly appealing to the youth, it has captivated the older generation as well. The images and videos captured at the event speak for themselves, showcasing the impact on the audience.
Winemakers have also recognized the potential in AR. Several wineries have expressed their intention to integrate this exciting technology at their vineyards. Preliminary discussions for orders have already begun.
Winemakers and event organizers believe that verAR is a new ace up their sleeves, enabling them to reach the younger demographic, which was previously challenging. AR has helped create a common language between winemakers and the younger generation, making not only the style of wines but also their presentation trendy.
The global market for Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, and Mixed Reality is expected to grow by over $220 billion between 2021 and 2028. Tim Cook believes that AR will soon be as important in our lives as three daily meals. AR is undoubtedly making its mark in Hungary, and verAR is assisting winemakers in facing the new challenges posed by targeting the younger generation.
AR adds new meaning to the wine experience, and we can expect many similar initiatives in the future in the Hungarian wine scene. Although verAR is still in the testing phase, it has already proven itself to be not just part of the future but also the present."
