Ultinous is a technology startup company with the mission of making deep understanding of big data available to other companies. In our first project, we successfully managed big data on the petabyte scale on a large multi-hundred node cluster. Building data warehouse on this scale is challenging, but we are up to an even more challenging task: deep understanding of big data. We are witnessing an
unprecedented breakthrough in machine learning. Thanks to recent progress in deep learning, the gap between human and machine performance is narrowing quickly in computer vision, speech and natural language understanding. At Ultinous we believe technologies that are science fictions today will be available sooner that many would expect. We think machines will be able to deeply understand unstructured data such as images or video streams. Deep learning uses structures similar to the ones in human brain and they are getting closer in size too, but machines are not limited in time and resources and can see and process data magnitudes larger than a human being can. We are working on computer vision applications of cutting edge deep learning technologies such as real-time recognition of human activities on video streams, automatically finding specific objects on satellite images and much more.
