❌ How NOT to celebrate International Women’s Day as a company?
Posting “Happy Women’s Day” once a year, while doing little the rest of the year to ensure equal treatment for your female employees compared to their male counterparts.

✅ How to do it RIGHT?
By recognizing, valuing, and respecting the work of your female employees throughout the entire year, just as you do the work of your male employees. By not making exceptions or creating double standards, but instead providing the same opportunities, expectations, and conditions for everyone. By building a workplace that is supportive, fair, and truly equal.

International Women’s Day is not really about congratulating women on a single day. It’s more of a reminder that there should be no difference in how women and men are treated simply because of gender. If a woman does the same job, and does it just as well, the recognition should be the same.

We wish every woman a workplace where her work is valued not just one day a year, but all 365 days. 🤝

Most programming languages use English keywords. Documentation, tutorials, error messages, and community forums are overwhelmingly written in English. Even when developers work in local teams, the tools they rely on every day - frameworks, libraries, version control systems, and cloud platforms - communicate in English.

Strong English skills allow programmers to:
• Understand documentation faster and more accurately
• Search for solutions efficiently
• Collaborate with international teams
• Contribute to open-source projects
• Stay updated with the latest technologies and trends

Without English, a developer often depends on translations, second-hand explanations, or outdated resources.

This is why the declining English proficiency in Japan is increasingly seen as a warning sign for the tech industry. According to recent international rankings, Japan ranked 96th out of 123 non-native English-speaking countries and has fallen behind regional peers such as Singapore and South Korea, highlighting a widening gap in the skills required to maintain its position in the global market.

For Japanese companies, the solution is not simply “learning more English,” but integrating language development into professional growth. Investing in technical English training, encouraging participation in international projects, and supporting employees in global knowledge-sharing communities can significantly reduce this gap. Opening up to international partners who are already familiar with emerging technologies can also accelerate progress and reduce risk.
