Our exhibition ‘One must imagine Sisyphus happy’, currently on display in the Galerija Bernardo Bernardi in Zagreb, explores the relationship between meaning and work. The exhibition features an installation including a series of posters, a sculptural object and their animated virtual extensions in AR (augmented reality). The exhibition will be on display until November 19th, 2022.
The title of the exhibition is a quote from ‘The Myth of Sisyphus’ by Camus. Sisyphus was condemned to ceaselessly rolling a rock to the top of a mountain, only to watch it roll back down. Camus claims that Sisyphus can find happiness in this absurd task only once he has accepted that it is his entire world.
While creating the exhibition, we asked ourselves which sensations move us and empower us, work-wise, in rolling our own metaphoric rock. In conclusion, we find that our motivation mostly comes from the creative exploration of new visual styles, from including contemporary technologies in our work, and from possibilities that new media brings to present-day design, but also from pushing our own boundaries.
Graphic design, illustration, animated typographic compositions, 2D & 3D motion graphics, spatial design, augmented reality and branding are all part of this exhibition and a result of the excitement brought on by learning new skills, improving old ones, and most importantly, loving what you do.
