In the Casino Gaming Industry, so often we got people who ask by client: “why does content cost so much more then my signage”.
What I want to say is this. There seems to be a very disproportional obsession on spending hundred or thousands or even million of dollars on signage or LED display by projects team (without considering if they needed it). But by the time when it come to the content, there are no budget left and the client then complain about why content cost so much money.
The only way to look at this is like this: Buying a nice beautiful signage for your casino is like buying a nice picture frame for a piece of arts. So ask yourself this, will you spend more money on the art or will you spend more money on the picture frame?
For some reasons, for many many many projects teams, the common mistake is spend more on the frame and leave no money on the arts (content), which is why you have these massive display, playing awful experience.
My advice to my client has always been. For every dollar you spend on a nice display or signage, budget at least 2 dollars for your content. Otherwise, you might as sell well not spend the money on the frame, as you are going to get an awful experience anyway.
