DEVELOMENT MANAGER REQUIRED for the following functions • Develop wealth management applications, getting involved in all stages of the project life cycle from business requirement gathering, design, implementation, testing to deployment
• Analyze business requirements for development or implementation projects and translate into system requirements
• Identify, evaluate, and design HSBC compliant solutions for business consideration and undertake impact analysis of proposed solutions
• Provide consultancy to business and act as an expert in subject matter for specific business areas
• Coordinate with business users and IT teams to ensure that applications are built according to requirements, effectively tested and successfully deployed
• Facilitate and provide knowledge transfer of applications and business processes to production support teams through documentation or training sessions
• Coach offshore developers to ensure their deliverables meet quality standards and project deadlines
• Comply with group policies and standards
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED
• University graduate with a degree in computer science or equivalent
• A minimum of 7 years’ IT development experience; Involvement in wealth management or investment IT functions preferred
• Possess at least three years’ experience in leading a medium-sized software team, with a track record in the delivery of complex system development projects
• Prior experience in vendor management, working in a diversified or matrix team structure will be an advantage
• Solid analytical skills in gathering and analyzing requirements, identifying, evaluating and proposing solutions
• Experience in the areas of retail investment, wealth management, asset management would be an added advantage
• Solid expertise in J2EE, WebSphere Application Server, IBM MQ, Oracle PL/SQL, Java, AOP, Hibernate, Spring, database design, with a strong awareness of emerging technologies and industry standards
• In-depth knowledge of design/modeling standards such as UML and design patterns
• Strong team player who also has the ability to work under pressure, independently and proactively
• Excellent organizational, communication and time management skills
• Strong communications skills in both written and verbal in English
•Able to effectively interact with different groups of stakeholders
